In our lives, it would be nice to think 2014 will be an improvement over
At this time, it seems everyone talks about New Year’s Resolutions, one
resolution hopefully is that we will let God in our life and trust Him more.
But really the idea of a resolution may be flawed. To change one’s self is
more difficult, it takes time, commitment, faith and not just a statement.
New Year’s Day can be a procrastinator’s dream.
“Why start now, when I can wait until New Year’s Day.”
New Year’s Resolutions can set people up to fail more than succeed. It’s
much easier to quit if it’s a once a year commitment.
“Ah, I blew it. Back to my old ways.”
We often forget that there are 365 days in a year. 365 days to allow God
to make a difference in us and for us to make a difference for others.
On some of those days you’ll do better than others. But it’s important to
recognize, it’s not all or nothing. It’s a journey.
One day, one choice at a time.
So if you are setting a New Year’s Resolution here’s some advice:
First, that we commit each day to God and His plan for us.
Second, it’s great to have an end goal, but don’t get so caught up in the
past or future that you lose sight of the present.
Blessings to all for a wonderful year that is full of the Peace, Hope, Love
and Joy, that God alone can bring to each of us.
“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine
on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”
One Day, One Choice at a Time.
