STATE TIMES NEWSSAMBA: Police on Monday arrested three absconders at
Samba and Rajouri districts.
As per the reports, on a reliable sources information
regarding the absconder, a police team of Bari Brahmana
Police Station headed by SI Purab Singh under the supervi-
sion of Inspector Drashan Singh and SDPO Bari Brahmana
Sunil Kesar arrested the absconder from Bari Brahmana
namely Raj Kumar alias Raju son of Som Nath resident of
Jandrah.
The accused was wanted in case vide FIR No. 38/2009
under section 457/380 RPC of Police Station Bari
Brahmana and was evading his arrest for the last 9 years
after commission of crime. Accordingly, the accused was pro-
duced in the Court of Law and warrant issued against him
under 512 CrPC by Additional Munsiff JMIC Samba got
executed and the accused send to Sub- Jail Hiranagar.
Meanwhile, Police also arrested two absconders wanted in
two FIRs in Rajouri and Sunderbani police stations.
Absconder namely Mohammad Farooq son of Mohammad
Ismail resident of Maira Nagrota in Rajouri has been arrest-
ed by a team headed by SHO Rajouri Ajaz Haider under the
supervision of DySP Headquarters Govind Rattan.
He was absconding in case FIR no 163/2004 under sec-
tions 341/323/34 RPC of police station Rajouri and he was
evading his arrest since 2008.
Similarly, Sunderbani police station team under the super-
vision of SDPO Nowshera Brijesh Sharma also arrested one
absconder namely Mohammad Rafi son of Mohammad
Bashir resident of Parat Sunderbani. He has been arrested
and was absconding in case FIR No 66/2018 u/s 188/RPC
of police station Sunderbani. Both the absconders shall be
produced before the court of law.
Notorious criminal detained under PSASTATE TIMES NEWS
SAMBA: In order to curtail the activities of hardcore crimi-
nal namely Anwar Choudhary, son of Sardar Mohd resident
of Bagoon, Nud District Samba, who is involved in number
of criminal activities detained under PSA at Samba on
Monday.
As per the details, a special team of Police Station Samba
under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP
Samba and under the supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP
Hqrs Samba headed by Inspr. Shiv Dev Singh, SHO Police
Station Samba was constituted and the arrest of the said
accused person was affected.
He was habitual criminal and has established involvement
in a number of heinous crimes for which a number of FIRs
has been registered in different Police Stations of District
Samba, Jammu and Udhampur which include FIR No.
201/2015 under section 354/323/147 RPC of Police Station
Samba; FIR No. 256/2015 under section 395/420 RPC of
Police Station Nagrota; FIR No. 100/2017 under section
323/336/427 /147/148 RPC of Police Station Nagrota and
FIR No.75/2017 under section 458/354 RPC of PS Chenani
Accordingly, in order to prevent the Anwar from spreading,
expanding, continuing his criminal activities and to prevent
him from disturbing public order, District Police Samba
compiled all the police record of aforsaid criminal, prepared
his dossier and got issued his warrant under Public Safety
Act issued from Deputy Commissioner, Samba to prevent
him from indulging in prejudicial criminal activities and
lodged the said detune in Sub-Jail Hiranagar on Monday
after execution of warrant under PSA issued against him.
Five arrested with 114 kg poppy straw STATE TIMES NEWS
VIJAYPUR: Police on Monday arrested five persons and
recovered approximately 114 kilograms of poppy straw from
their possession in Samba and Udhampur.
As per the details, on a tip off SDPO Vijaypur S. Baleet
Singh constituted a team headed by Inspector Rakesh
Bamba SHO Vijaypur Police Station which along with team
laid Naka on Jammu Pathnakot National Highway near
Raya Morh area of Vijaypur. During the Naka, police inter-
cepted a truck (JK02T- 2581) coming from Kathua, and
recovered 52 kilogram of poppy straw from it.
The driver of the truck namely Prithpal Singh, son of
Chanda Singh, resident of Gagore Vijaypur in District
Samba was arrested and a case vide FIR. 41/2019 under
section 8/15/60 NDPS Act was registered against him at
Police Station Vijaypur.
In a similar incident, during the Naka checking in same
place, police intercepted another truck (JK02AG- 9781)
coming from Kathua. During checking, police recovered 21
kilogram of poppy straw from the cabin of the truck. The
accused driver identified as Nirmaljeet son of Harjeet Singh
resident of Abtal Ramgarh arrested on spot and a case vide
FIR No. 42/2019 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was regis-
tered against him at Police Station Vijaypur.
Meanwhile, Chenani Police also recovered 41 kgs poppy
straw and arrested three persons.
SSP Rajiv Pandey said Udhampur police led by SHO
Parmjeet Singh under the supervision of Dy SP Santokh
Raj, Addl. SP Rajinder Singh Katoch laid a Naka near
Motor Shed on Jammu Kashmir National Highway in
Udhampur and intercepted two trucks (PB05N-9992 and
PB29L-9786). During checking, police recovered 41 kgs
poppy straw from both trucks.
Three smugglers identified as Satnam Singh son of
Darshan Singh resident of Amritsar, Harbanms Singh son
of Prem Singh and Gurdeep Singh son of Sohan Singh both
residents of Ludhina were arrested a case under section 8/15
NDPS Act was registered against them.

UDHAMPUR: Police on Monday arrested a youth and
recovered 25.5 gms contraband (Chitta) from his possession
at Karal on Jammu Kashmir highway in Udhampur.
According to a report, on a tip off information, a police
party led by SHO Kud under the supervision of Addl. SP
Rajinder Singh Katoch, Dy SP Santokh Raj during check-
ing at Karal Naka on Jammu Kashmir highway in
Udhampur nabbed a pedestrian who was moving towards
Patnitop.
During search police to recovered 25.5 contraband drug
(Chitta) from his possession. The accused identified as
accused as Jeevan Singh, son of Sita Ram, resident of Mall
Road Kud in Udhampur and a case vide FIR No.06/2019
under section 8/21/22 NDPS.
Unidentified body found STATE TIMES NEWS
UDHAMPUR: Police recovered a decomposed body lying
under mysterious circumstances in Tawi near village Siyal
locality in Udhampur.
According to a report, Udhampur police recovered a
decomposed unidentified body of a middle aged person from
Tawi lying in mysterious circumstances in Udhampur and
shifted it to District Hospital Udhampur and kept it in mor-
tuary for identification. A case under section 174 Cr.PC and
investigation is on.

KISHTWAR: Army undertook initiative of organising a 'lec-ture on Career Counseling by JKEDI' at Chhatru, Kishtwar.The Counseling was targeted towards the youth of Chhatru &far flung areas.
