Physical Proficiency Means that the cadet has met the standard in both Body Composition & Physical Fitness

Body Composition and Physical Fitness are two separate things that
make up one pillar.

Physical Proficiency Means that the cadet has met the standard in EITHER Height and Weight or Body Fat standards.
BODY COMPOSITION
Body Composition begins with a height and weight screening. If the
cadet exceeds the maximum allowable weight for height, the cadet must meet Maximum allowable body
fat standards.

Physical Proficiency Means that the cadet has scored a minimum of 180 with 60 points in each of the three events.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
Physical Fitness Simply means a passing score on the CPFT.
4th Class Orientation & Training
Failing to Meet the Standard• assigned to CPRT, which includes make-up CPFTs
• body weight and body fat will be reassessed monthly
• success = 3-8 lb. loss each month until standard is reached

• Cadet-Recruits who fail Diagnostic PT Test are not considered physically deficient
• a PASS on Diagnostic PT Test does not exempt from For Record CPFT

For Record CPFT• When . . .
September & April
• Who takes it . . .All cadets except Air Force contracts
AF Contracts who fail the Air Force CPFT will be reported and subject to deficiency status.
• Who grades it . . .Certified cadet graders
4th Class Orientation & Training
For Record CPFT, cont.• No other test dates/times are authorized
for CPFT
• Corps Squad exemption for NCAA VARSITY athletes ONLY
• Trainers/Managers/Film crew are not considered NCAA Varsity athletes.
– NCAA Athletes must take the CPFT however the process may be
different at times due to “In Season” status.

For Record CPFT, cont.
• Cannot “Abandon” the CPFT. Must attempt all events and must go to the finish line to meet with grader.
• All CPFT cards that are not signed are incomplete and will be given a “Fail”.
• If you cannot finish run, ,must still go to finish line and meet with grader.

PASS or FAIL• PASS = scoring a minimum of 60
points in each event
• FAIL = scoring below 60 points in any event or an unexcused absence from test

Injury or Illness• The Citadel Physician is only
authority who may issue a medical excusal from CPFT
• The checkout record from Citadel Infirmary is required documentation for medical excusal from CPFT

Each Cadet is assigned an RFID Chip
When the Race Chip crosses the start pad, the Cadet’s start time is recorded

• Intramurals – points awarded based on participation and success
• CPFT Excellence – cadets scoring 280 earn points
ROTC cadets and varsity athletes can take the CPFT as programmed on the Corps Training Schedule to earn points!
• Athletic Achievement – Corps Squad & Club Sport athletes with outstanding achievements earn points for company
4th Class Orientation & Training
Physical Fitness Excellence Badge• Awarded to cadets who score a 270
on the record CPFT with a minimum of 90 points in all 3 events.
• Cannot be earned during Alternate CPFT
• Must make minimum scoring standards on all subsequent CPFT’s to continue wearing.
• Only worn on the CPFT Uniform.
