On behalf of Regional Chapter of Anatomy and Organizing Committee

Members of MAHACON – IV 2017, it is our great pleasure to invite you for the 4th

conference of Regional Chapter of Anatomy (Maharashtra) on 15th

& 16th

September 2017 at

MGM Medical College, Kamothe, Navi Mumbai.

The theme of our conference is ‘Birth Defects’. Developmental Anatomy and the

anomalies have been fascinating and intriguing since ages. Birth Defects, their epidemiology,

etiology, investigations and interventions are progressive and have been evolving the medical

field. Our distinguished guests will share their views with us, while looking at the topic through

the lens of Anatomy.

Today Anatomy is expanding on newer, more interesting and challenging frontiers,

increasing career opportunities for young anatomists. The panel discussion on “Expanding

Horizons for Anatomist” by the eminent panelists may help in opening some new doors.

We look forward to your participation in this conference. Hope you enjoy the academic feast.

Anatomy (Maharashtra) at the Venue of conference.

• Registration forms of PG Students should be accompanied by Certificate from the Dean

of the college.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS:

If cancellation of registration is requested till 15th

August 2017, 50% of the amount shall

be refunded and this will be sent to the person concerned not before 31st November 2017. No

refund will be entertained after 15th August 2017.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS:

Travel arrangements are to be made by the delegates themselves.

TOURS:

Assistance will be provided for tours /site seeing by travel desk which will be managed

by private tour agencies.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACT

Abstract should be computer typed as MS word document in A4 size and should include

the title, author’s name, institution and the contents in brief. It should be sent through E-mail and

CD with hard copy (in triplicate).

Title: Should be Bold Font, Font type – Times New Roman & Font size 14, leaving 10

spaces from the left margin. The first letters of each word should be in capital.

Author’s Name: Should be in capital letters, Font Size 12 and the name of Presenting

Author being underlined.

Contents: Should contain Aim of the study, Material, Methods, Results and Conclusion.

It should not exceed 250 words.

SCIENTIFIC PRESENTATION:

1. Oral presentation :

Time allowed for oral presentation will be 7 minutes. An additional 3 minutes will be

given for discussion. LCD projector will be provided.

For LCD presentation, please make sure to bring CDs or pen drives compatible with

Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8. The power point presentation should be in

format of ppt. It is recommended to carry a backup in case the CD/Pen drive is not

readable.

The Scientific Papers for Oral Presentation will be covered under the following heads:

• Gross Anatomy, Forensic Anatomy, Physical Anthropology & Applies Anatomy.

• Morphology, Growth & Development, Teratology & Embryology.

• Imaging, Museum & Embalming Techniques.

• Genetics, Cytogenetic & Reproductive Biology.

• Histology, Histochemistry, Cytology & Immunology.

• Neurosciences & Endocrinology.

• Medical Education.

N.B.: Kindly mention in the abstract form under which of the above 7 categories you want your

paper to be considered.

2. Award Papers :

The Award Papers for Oral Presentation will be covered under the following heads:

Participants should reach the venue by 8 AM on the day of conference along with their

poster.

4. Poster presentation for UG students

Poster size – 32 inches X 44 inches. Participants should reach the venue by 8 AM on the

day of conference along with their poster. Only the title of the poster, author names and

institutional affiliation should be sent to mahacon2017@gmail.com by 31st July 2017

Posters presented by UG students should have name of faculty member as second author.

*Best Poster Award will be given to each category (point-3, 4)
