Each year our school organizes a “sport week” . This year from 12 th to 16 th March some students went skiing to Campo Felice others preferred to stay at school and take part in different activities as basketball, volley- ball, football, dancing, cooking, science lab. Campo Felice is one the most important ski resort in the centre of Italy. There the students could choose between Nordic or Alpine ski. Students who had chosen Nordic ski, the first day, were divided into three groups: beginners, intermediate and expert and then they skied with good teachers. They en- joyed even though the first three days the weather was very cold and windy. At school, one of the funniest activities was cooking English and American bakery with the English teacher. We found out that we were very good at it! We cooked “Muffins” and “AmericanBrownies”: they were deli- cious and we ate them ! The science lab was very interesting: we studied DNA with our teacher. On Wednesday we went to the mountain with a rescue team who saves people from avalanches and they showed us how they do. Inshort it was a great week because we had fun and above all we didn’t have lessons or homework!!! Competition in swimming On 5th October there was a competition in swimming. Here´s an interview with Klára Pelcová. Did you look forward? Yes, I did. A lot. Did you like it? Yes, I did. I was glad, that I could b ethere with my classmates. In which discipline did you compete and who was there with you? We swim in relay race. In my team there were Nicol Pálková, Viktor Puk a Franta Konvalinka with me. Which school were there? UNESCO, Jarošov and Sportovní. Did you win anything? I don´t know it by that time. Michaela Tomaštíková Carnival on ice Missis teacher said one day that on Saturday 3rd March it will be carnival on ice. I looked forward to Saturday and I chose for this day a mask of a cat. Immediately I liked the carnival. There was a lot of competitions. I took part in competition with my friend, we had second place. There played music, we could dance, there was a funny raffle. My friend won a pineapple and I also received nice prizes. This carnival was beautiful, we could skate there and we had a lot of fun. Klára Pelcová SCHOOL HANDBALL TEAM Our handball team was very succesful this school year. They got into the national finals which will be organized in Érsekújvár in May. CSODASZARVAS TOURNAMENT CSODASZARVAS TOURNAMENT is an international indoor football tournament. It was organized in Miskolc, Hungary this year. Three countries – Hungary (one team), Romania (two teams) and Slovakia (one team from our school) - participated in it. The team from Marosvásárhely, Romania won the cup. Slovakia got the silver medal. OUR SKIING COURSE Once upon a time there were two classes: one was the class Primo and the other one the Secundo. These two classes were waiting in front of the school building to start the travel to Kokava for a one week skiing course. It is organized every second year at our school. The meeting was successful with a small delay. When the children had reached their destination, they occupied their rooms. A lucky small team was given their own chalet. The whole week was very good and fascinating. The program was excellent: brerakfast, morning exercise, skiing, at noon – lunch, some rest and afternoon skiing. We had no problems with this program because our aim on this course was to learn the basis of skiing. If somebody has already been good at skiing, they could improve their skills and try snowboarding. The teachers prepared shows and games for us in the evenings. There were some handsome boys from an other school too so we, the girls immediately fell in love with them. The week passed away very fast but almost all of us has learnt how to ski. On the way home we changed our phone numbers and created a lot of stories. We wanted to stay at Kokava but at the same time we also wanted to go home. We missed our families. This skiing course is unforgettable for us. The tournament in table football The tournament in table football took place on 22nd March in our school. Each class chose three children. Classes competed with each other. All classes from our school took part. The tornament took place on three stands. There were pupils from 1st classes at 1st stand. Second and third classes competed at 2nd stand. And on the 3rd stand there played pupils from fourth and fifth classes. I was on the 3rd stand. Classes 4. B and 5. A made it to the finals. After exciting duel boys from 5. A won. We congratulate to all of participants and we thank for nice experiences, we had a lot of fun. Girls didn` t advance, but they captivated people by their dance and dress. There were different distances to run according to the age of the runners: In “The girls fountain” Athletics Track: Lollipop race- Born until 2008 distance 80 metres Promotion race- Born in 2006/07 distance 200 metres Youngest race- Born in 2004/05 distance 400 metres Junior race- Born in 2001/02/03 distance 800 metres Infant race- Born in 1999/2000 distance 1200 metres Cadet race- Born in 1997/98 distance 1600 metres Urban circuit of 5 Kilometres (Absolut race) Junior, Senior and Veteran cathegories. Participants paid 2 euros (donative) to the organization, a gesture of solidarity with the third world. The purpose of this run race is to make aware about the problem of not to have potable water and its consequences in unde- veloped countries. Every year we organize in our school a chess competi- tion. All the students of the school can participate in the competition. This activity is repeated every year and we carry it out during the break at the playground. There are no prizes for the winner but the most im- portant thing is that all the students that participate en- joy so much competing and sharing this experience with the rest of the students. Indeed, Diego Salas (from the 5 th grade class), one of our reporters, is participating and is already in the last part of the competition so in a few days we will know who is the winner this year. We hope that the best player will win the competition as it happens every year and we wish that the students maintain their energy to participate in the competition the next school year. Night at School Our students had a great night on 13th of January during Kalos Kagathos programme. Provided with sleeping bags, foam rubber mattresses and sport clothing they came at 9 p.m. for an adven- ture. There were a lot of sport disciplines wait- ing for participants, which were provided by teachers. Climbing Wall Adventure First, eyes were round with fear “So high? No! I`m not going to get there”, then a short training, three commands “Block- OK- Down”; and within mo- ments first volunteers were climbing the climbing wall. Such were emotions of participants of Kalos Kagathos programme who climbed the wall in the High School no 4 in Elblag. Students were climbing in turns and supporting each other. They accom- plished more climbing walls of different levels. In the end, there was a real troll`s cave. With a helmet, a small torch, you had to pass a dark and narrow corridors crawling all the time. A little fear, few eye drops and there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Few scratches and bruises, but the adventure was great! We took some photos which show our ad- venture. There will definitely be some volunteers for some future visits! Poland vs. Britain In a preliminary match of European Champion- ship in Women`s Hand- ball Polish naonal rep- resentaon won with Great Britain in Elbląg. Students from our school cheered during the match. We`re waing for future matches and another successes from the white and red team. Second place in Inter- School Foot- ball Champi- onships Our students from VI a class won the second place in the Inter-School Football Championships of Headmaster from the Lower Secondary School no 7. The team consisted of : Dymkowski Janusz, Gałązka Piotr, Jesion- kowski Damian, Kuczyński Marcin, Pisarek Bartosz, Ruszczyk Krzysztof, Szymborski Michał, Wiatr Kacper, Wiśniewski Damian. We wish All the boys more successes like this. Each year our school organizes a “sport week” .

This year from 12th to 16th March some students went

Carnival on ice Missis teacher said one day that on Saturday 3rd

March it will be carnival on ice. I looked forward to

Saturday and I chose for this day a mask of

CSODASZARVAS

TOURNAMENT

CSODASZARVAS TOURNAMENT is an

international indoor football tournament. It was

The Success of Teachers from Elbląg

On the 24th of March, on Saturday The Warmian- Masuri-

an Voivodeship Teacher Women Volleyball Comeptition

took place at the gym in Primary School number 8 in

Elbląg. The teachers from Elbląg, and among them our PE

teacher (Krystyna Gierszewska), won the first place.
