A Word From Fr. Ed I want to thank the people of St Joseph for their gracious and kind farewell this past Sunday. Bob’s words were generous and so very supportive. I pray that they continue to inspire me to work even harder. As a community your words and gestures are deeply appreciated. As a community you have a very gifted staff supported by a core of committed and faith filled volunteers. As you continue your journey I am sure that the Holy Spirit will be guiding, supporting, and moving you as a family of faith. Again, thank you for these years together and may you continue to recognize the Lord’s blessings in your individual and communal lives. Remember, “we are companions on the journey”!! Fr Ed

Just a Word to Carry with You

We all know that exercise is good for our bodies, minds, and emotions. But if you are like me, sometimes I have to really convince myself to do it!

However, exercise can also be part of our spiritual practice (which has helped my sometimes reluctance) Here are some ways to pray with exercise: ~ Notice the rhythm of your body as you are moving. Use a prayer phrase or mantra over and over to the rhythm of that movement and let it be a total body prayer. ~ Notice your breathing. Meditate on how the breath of God gives you life. Use a breath prayer (i.e., breathe in "acceptance", breathe out "surrender"; or breathe in "peace", breathe out "thank you": or create one of your own) ~ Make the intention that this time of exercise will be a time of prayer. Start out with some spiritual or scriptural reading that you can meditate on while exercising. Or, listen to some music that feeds your soul. ~ When you are exercising, whether inside or outside, notice the beauty of all that is around you – both the creation of God and the works of human hands – and thank God for all of it! Be well and be at peace!

One Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and

justice for all

On July 1st we began the next chapter in the history of St. Joseph’s! We ask everyone to join us and help us write it. Let’s make it a joyful chapter. Welcome Fr. Kyle Gorenski Bishop Edward Scharfenberger has announced that as of July 1, 2021, Fr. Kyle Gorenski will serve as the parochial vicar (Formerly referred to as an “associate pastor” or “curate”), of St. Joseph’s Church in Greenwich, Notre Dame-Visitation Parish in Schuylerville, and St. Clement’s in Saratoga Springs. Fr. Gorenski will be joining the new pastor, Fr. James Ebert, and Fr. Randy Patterson who recently retired from active ministry, as the third priest of the team that will be ministering to all three parishes as was announced on May 15. Fr. Kyle was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Ed on Saturday, June 19 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany. The 39-year-old veteran joined the Army in 2000, a year before the 9/11 attacks and subsequently did two tours of duty in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan where he served as a field military police officer. Following his military service, the Rhode Island native became a Rhode Island State Trooper. In 2011, Fr. Gorenski left the state police and entered the college seminary program in the Ocean State and after receiving his bachelor’s in philosophy he entered St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD in 2014. During his time in the program for priestly formation, his parish assignments as a seminarian or deacon included Holy Trinity in Cohoes, Our Lady of the Valley in Middleburgh, Blessed Sacrament in Albany, St. Ambrose in Latham, St. Isaac Jogues in Chestertown, and last summer at St. Clement’s in Saratoga Springs. Welcome to St. Joseph’s Fr Kyle!

A proud Grampa, David White, announced that his daughter, Shannon Katherine White gave birth to a baby girl June 27, Mikita Katherine, 8lbs 6oz.
