What the Bible Declares About Jesus Christ The Bible has much to say about Jesus Christ. From Genesis to Revelation there is a scarlet thread woven throughout. Jesus Christ and the unfolding drama of redemption is the entire theme of the Bible. The Bible declares that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (John 1:14, 18, 3:16). John uses an unique term, the “only begotten” Son of God. This means “one and only” or “one of a kind”. Jesus Christ did not become the Son at the birth in Bethlehem. He has always been the Son of God.

The Bible declares that Jesus Christ is God (John 1:1-3, Genesis 1:26, Isaiah 9:6, I John 5:7). They are one in the same. Jesus Christ shares the glory of God the Father. The Bible declares that Jesus Christ is the Creator and sustainer of all things (Colossians 1:12-19).

Jesus Christ taught the disciples much about Himself. He foretold them of His death and resurrection. He gave them much insight into who He was and His relationship with God. Read John 14:8-11. Jesus answers Philip’s question stating that He is God in the flesh. Jesus says, “he that hath seen me hath seen the Father”. Jesus Christ is the GodMan, God Himself in flesh. Jesus said in John 17:11 that He is one with the Father. Jesus stated very clearly in John 14:6 that He is the only way to God and to heaven.

What Jesus Christ Declares About Himself

“The Night Before" A Study in John 13-17 Lesson 4

Read John 5:18-24. Jesus Christ is equal with God in works (vs.19), knowledge (vs.20), power (vs.21), judgment (vs.22), and honor (vs.23). Jesus is God, God in the flesh. Jesus Christ shares the glory of the Father. He is all that God is and has. All power is given unto Him in heaven and in earth (Matthew 28:18).

What Jesus Christ’s Works Declare Think about the life of Christ. What stands out the most? For the people living while He ministered on earth it was the miraculous works He was doing.

What Jesus Christ did on earth could only have come from God. Christ responds to Philip’s question in John 14:11. If Philip does not believe by what Christ is telling him he should, “believe me for the very works’ sake”.

John the Baptist sent his disciples to Jesus. Read Luke 7:19-23. The proof is, “The blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, and the dead are raised”. No one has ever been able to raise the dead except for the creator of that life. The Bible is packed full of truths about Jesus Christ. Take these truths and write them on the table of your heart and in the back of your Bible.
