4H State Dress Code Guidelines For 4 H State Dog Show The following are guidelines for clothing to be worn at the 4 H State Dog Show competitions for presenting the 4H competitor(s) in the best overall presentation. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP The following is suggested attire for Junior Showmanship Boy(s) Clean blue jeans, slacks, (belts to be used were appropriate) T-shirt, polo shirt (Club logo may be visible, no offensive advertisement) Good fitting foot wear Girl(s) Dress, skirt (length (hemline) should be in middle of knee or just above the knee), (no tight fitting clothing, handler needs room to move with your animal) Possible illustration (see below) Pantsuit, Suit Sweaters, blouses, top (No plunging neck lines), Jewelry in moderation Shoes-Low heels or flats, casual/ or clean tennis shoes Hair-Clean, and arranged so as not to interfere with 4Her’s vision Obedience Clean blue jeans, slacks, (belts to be used were appropriate) Blouse, T-shirt, Polo shirt (Club logo may be visible) Good fitting foot wear Agility Clean shorts (Bermuda or knee length only), slacks, jeans (belt as appropriate)

Casual Professional Casual Semi-FormalMales Clean blue jeans, slacks,

(belts to be used were appropriate)Blouse, T-shirt (Club logo may be visible)Good fitting foot wear

For guys - slacks, shirts without ties, polo shirts, leather shoes - lace-ups or loafers, boots, clean tennis shoes.

For guys - dress slacks with a jacket, shirt and tie, leather shoes (no tux).

Females Clean blue jeans, slacks, (belts to be used were appropriate)Blouse, T-shirt (Club logo may be visible)Good fitting foot wear

For girls - skirts (no shorter than 3 inches above knee) or slacks with an appropriate blouse or shirt (no see-through shirts), polo shirts, leather shoes, clean tennis shoes. Dress denim and khakis are appropriate.

For girls - dresses from knee to floor length, pants suits appropriate for a prom or similar dress-up activity. Prom dresses may be worn, but no backless or low cut dresses (no exposed navel, back or cleavage), permitted. This could include a dressy outfit worn to an event at your church, synagogue, or mosque.
