Livestock Participants:

Remember to contact Ryan or

Deborah to Davis to get ticket books

to sell for the drawing for the Gator!

The funds raised by this help each

and every one of you in sales! It is

very important that everyone

involved in any livestock project

gets involved.

For the past seven years, Chad Epperson has been working non-

stop to build a thriving 4-H program alongside the agents in

Gray County. As a new volunteer, he led several food and nutri-

tion projects while also volunteering as a club manager. When

his son developed an interest in archery, Chad became a pas-

sionate archery coach and assisted CEA's around the district in

starting their own 4-H archery programs. In 2017 he helped lead

the first District 1 Archery Contest and is now certified as an

archery instructor. In addition, he led a shoot to raise funds for

Hurricane Harvey victims (over $400), and also assisted with

setting up the State WHEP contest in Gray county. He also has

filled in as a livestock mentor when Gray County was without

an Ag Agent. Most recently Chad worked to plan a statewide

indoor archery event to be held in Pampa in 2018, which

gave youth in the Texas Panhandle an opportunity to partici-

pate. He also serves on the District 1 program development

board leading the archery committee in programming efforts.

The heart of this individual is what makes his leadership

extraordinary. Chad regularly uses his personal funds to travel

to other counties within the district to assist with coaching and

encouraging leaders and agents. Chad received the Salute to

Excellence Award on Wednesday June 13, 2013.

Congratulations, Chad!

4-H Enrollment starts August 15 for the 2018/2019 year on 4-H Connect. The enrollment fee will

be $20.00 for the year from August 15 through October 31. Starting November 1, 2018 the

enrollment fee will be $25 for the year for 4-H youth. If you are already in the system, you do not

need to start a new profile, just go to your existing family profile and re-enroll. If you have an

incoming 3rd grader, please wait until September 1 to enroll. If you enroll a 3rd grader before that

date, the computer will code the membership incorrectly. If you need help enrolling, please call

the office at 669-8033. If you are new to the system, you will need to create a family profile and

add all youth and adults that will participate in 4-H and 4-H Connect. When enrolling, you will

have an option on payment. If you pay with debit or credit, the youth will be in the system

immediately (recommended). If you do not have a credit or debit card and need to pay with check

or cash, please contact the office.
