1. Avoid discounting before Christmasas much as possible. Don’t turn yourbest retail period into an average one.
2. Focus on quality of service ratherthan just price. Make sure your teamare completely aware of the benefits ofthe Christmas products you have onoffer. So they can give good honestquick advice on the best buy for yourclients.
3. Merchandise your products moreeffectively by making sure your teamknows how to make a good sales pitchto a customer. Consider sales trainingor make sure you have at least one ortwo star team members on the floor atall times that others can learn from.Have a pre-determined incentiveprogram to promote high performancefrom your team.
4. Be aware of what your products sellfor online. It is worth consideringwhether to have a visible policy that
states you will match an online priceas long as the on-line retailer has acomparable “bricks and mortar” salon.However, it is important not to useonline pricing as the sole guide fordetermining price.
5. Invite your customers to providetheir email or home addresses whenthey purchase from you. Input theirdetails onto a database andcommunicate regular offers or eventsto woo them back in the door at a laterdate. Post Christmas sales or thearrival of new products are goodcommunication opportunities.

10. Strategically analyse yourinvestment in stock. Make sure youare covering every retail salesopportunity you can.
