§ Scallopsareoftenmachinedonthetubularcarrieroutersurface,sotoprovideaproperrecessforburrsthatmaybegeneratedduringthebulletpenetrationtowardstheformation.
§ Collapseratingofperforatinggunsprimarilyreliesontheratingofthetubularsteelcarrieritself.Theinfluenceofmaterialstrength,pipegeometryandresidualstressesonthecollapseperformanceofasteelpipeisofgreatimportanceforcasingandtubing.Tenaris hasbeeninvestigatingthemattersinceyears,leadingtotheintroductionintheindustryofHighCollapsegradesforOCTG.
§ Inthisstudy,theeffectofscallopsonUltimateCollapsePressureofPerforatingGunCarriershasbeeninvestigated.Theprimaryobjectiveistofindacorrelation,alsocalledderating,betweenthesimple"unscalloped"geometryandseveraltypicalscalloppatterns.
