Gaithersburg, Maiyland, USA - The Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC), a not-for-profit corporation established to develop and administer practice-retated examinations in the field of Nuclear Cardiology, is pleased to announce that Prapnesh H. Gadhvi MD, of New York, NY USA passed the certification examination in December 2007. The purposes of the CBNC Certification Program are to estabtish the domain of the practice of Nuclear Cardiology for certification; to assess the level of knowledge demonstrated by Nuclear Cardiology specialists in a valid manner; to encourage professional growth in, and enhance the quality of, the practice of Nuclear Cardiology; to recognize formally individuals who meet the requirements set by CBNC; and to serve the public by encouraging quality patient care in the practice of Nuclear Cardiology.

CBNC has been recognized by the Nuclear ReguIatory Commission (NRC) as meeting the requirements for the speciatty board certification pathway under ? O CFR Part 35, Section 35.290.

About CBNC The Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, a not-for-pfofit corporation estabiished in 1996, i s a futly autonomous entity, independent of any other association, society, or academy. This independence allows the CBNC to maintain integrity concerning p o k y matters related to certification. Since 2003, CBNC has collaborated with the European Council of Nudear Cardioiogy (ECNC) to offer the examination in a European venue. ECNC has representation on the CBNC’s Examination Committee,

During this period of time, Dr. Cadhvi also gained experience in the health physics proccdures of our facility, ~ ~ ~ i o p ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ c e i l t i c a l preparation 3nd administration, as well IS the geiieral operations of die facility. Specifically, this included the fotlowing procedural training and supervised work experience: I ) Qrdcciitg, receiving and unpacking radioactive illaterials safely and perfomling 1he relatcd radialion surveys; 2) Calibrating dose calibrators and diagnostic instrumeilts and performing checks for proper operation of survey instruments; 3) Calculating and safely preparing patient dosages: 4) Using adniinistmttvc coiitrols to prevent misadministration of radioactive material; and

5) Using emergency procedures to contain spilled radioactive material safely and using proper deconramination procedures.

The supervised clinical experience included:

1 ) Examining paticnts and reviewing their case hfstoriss to detcmlinc their suitability for radionuclide dingnosis, limitations, and contfaindications; 2) Selecting thc suitable ~~~iophamiaceuti~als and calculating and nicosuring the dosages; 3) Administering dosages to patients and using syringe radiafiou shields; 4) Collaborating with the authorized user In the interpretation of radionuclide test results; and 5 ) Patienr follaw-up, with at least 30 studies confirmed by diagtiostic coronary ntlgiography .

The roral timc spent in Nuclear Cardiology, inchding didactic, clinical srudy inlerpretafion, and hands-on clinical case aisd radiation safety training in iruclear cardiology during this time period was over 200 hours. He has 800 hours additionally from nuclear imaging at University o f I ~ l i ~ ~ o i s ~ i ~ l ~ ~ e l Reese Hospital.. Dr. Gadhvl has also completed the 200 hour Basic Radioisotope Handling Course.

Dr. Gadhvi has completed a fellowship-mining program in nuclear cardiology that meets thc requiremaits a5 outlined in the ACCIASNC COCATS Guidelines (revised 2006). Dr. Gadhvi is competent to €unction as an authorized user under 10 CFR 35.290 uses.

The only authorized users listed should be Ashokkumar Bitbaria, M.D. We would also like to add Pragnesh H. Gadhvi, MD. As an authorized user as well as RSO to this section ofthe license.

Dr. Gadhvi has provided credentials and he is certified by the Ceititication Board of Nuclear Cardiology as of December 2007.
