Grace to you and peace from God ourFather and the Lord Jesus Christ. We

are bound to thank God always for

you, brethren, as it is fitting, becauseyour faith grows exceedingly, and the

love of every one of you all abounds

ourselves boast of you among the

churches of God for your patienceand faith in all your persecutions and

tribulations that you endure, which is

manifest evidence of the righteousjudgment of God, that you may be

counted worthy of the kingdom of

God, for which you also suffer; since itis a righteous thing with God to repay

with tribulation those who trouble you,

and to give you who are troubled restwith us when the Lord Jesus is

revealed from heaven with His mightyangels, in flaming fire takingvengeance on those who do not knowGod, and on those who do not obey

the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.These shall be punished witheverlasting destruction from the

presence of the Lord and from theglory of His power, when He comes,in that Day, to be glorified in His

saints and to be admired among allthose who believe, because our

testimony among you was believed.Therefore we also pray always for youthat our God would count you worthyof this calling, and fulfill all the good

Gentiles; when we walked in

lewdness, lusts, drunkenness,revelries, drinking parties, and

abominable idolatries. In regard to

these, they think it strange that you donot run with them in the same flood of

dissipation, speaking evil of you. They

will give an account to Him who is

gospel was preached also to those

who are dead, that they might bejudged according to men in the flesh,

but live according to God in the spirit.

But the end of all things is at hand;therefore be serious and watchful in

your prayers. And above all things

have fervent love for one another, for

"love will cover a multitude of sins."

Be hospitable to one another without

grumbling. As each one has received

a gift, minister it to one another, as

good stewards of the manifold grace of

God. If anyone speaks, let him speakas the oracles of God. If anyone

ministers, let him do it as with the

ability which God supplies, that in allthings God may be glorified through

Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory

cost, whether he has enough to finish

it; "lest, after he has laid thefoundation, and is not able to finish,

all who see it begin to mock him,

"saying, 'This man began to build andwas not able to finish.' "Or what king,

going to make war against another

consider whether he is able with tenthousand to meet him who comes

against him with twenty thousand?
