Who Should Attend

Pediatric and adult gastroenterologists, nurses with interest in pediatric therapeutic digestive endoscopy and hands-on training activities.

The 3rd PETDW and 1st Endoscopy Nurses’ Live Course

This is an ESPGHAN formative event, supported by UEG.

This is the third three-day high-level workshop in the fields of pediatric gastroenterology, endoscopy and overall therapeutic pediatric endoscopy.

We offer this unique opportunity for hands-on experience with endoscopic therapeutic techniques and their clinical application in children. The local and invited national and international guest faculty comprises recognized experts and leaders in pediatric gastroenterology and digestive therapeutic endoscopy.

There will be a mixture of light presentations on current topics, review lectures, and presentations on controversial issues, with transmission of live procedures from the endoscopic suite to the conference hall. Everyone is welcome to observe, without filters or simulations, different and complex therapeutic endoscopic procedures, followed by full and extensive discussions of different aspects of the procedures (e.g. indications, complications, different options, technical aspects) with the faculty in the hall and in the endoscopic suite. The live endoscopic procedures will be performed by the faculty experts.

In this conference also the Nurses are invited to attend, along with the doctors they work with. Nurses will have a special suite to discuss their specific activities during the live sessions, that they can follow simultaneously.

At the European Endoscopic Training Centre (EETC), Catholic University School of Medicine, Rome, there will be personal hands-on endoscopy simulation training stations, for therapeutic procedures using animals models and electronic simulators. Participants, both nurses and doctors, will use instruments and accessories under the supervision of faculty experts.

The Live Sections will also be broadcast by internet web-based video streaming.

The faculty members, in dependence of their own experience, will be involved in the live endoscopy sessions as principal operator or for comment from the endoscopic suite.

All the faculty members in the hall will have the strategic role of discussant with the opportunity of continuous interface with the operators in the endoscopic suite. They could show their specific experience with short presentations (5’) in specific fields.

REFUND POLICY:

A handling fee of 20% is deducted for cancellation. Refund requests must be received by postal mail, email or fax forty days prior to this activity. No refunds will be made thereafter.
