PurPoseMultiple sclerosis is the second leading cause of disability in young adults 20-50 years old. It is one of the most complex diseases in neurology that requires a comprehensive approach. This conference will provide effective strategies that will help with early diagnosis, appropriate stratification of disease modifying therapies and symptom management including sleep disorders, optic neuritis and rehabilitation medicine. In addition, it will provide tools to diagnose and treat other diseases that can mimic multiple sclerosis including demyelinating disease of the central nervous system which can also occur in children. This symposium will address diagnosis and management of pediatric multiple sclerosis and mimickers such as neuromyelitis optica syndrome.

TargeT audienceThe Mid-Atlantic Multiple Sclerosis Symposium is designed for neurologists, pediatric neurologists, multiple sclerosis specialists, internal medicine and family medicine providers, physical and occupational therapists, and other specialists treating patients with multiple sclerosis. Residents and fellows are also invited.
