Snow Camp 2009

Where: Lech Valley, Austria How: Fly & Coach Organised by Jeka (dedicated Scout/Guide

Check in Baggage

Check in one bag weighing a maximum of 15kgs

Scouts must be able to carry the bag themselves (not just wheels)

Try and come in short of 15kgs if possible.

Carry-on Baggage

One carry-on bag (day bag back pack style) Max weight 10kgs Max size 55cm x 40cm x 20cm

Pack PJs, toothbrush/comb, set underwear/socks in Daybag

2 x packed lunches – don’t use tinfoil! 1 x empty water bottle Inhaler if needed Plastic bag (in case of travel sickness)

Please pack… Ski-Jacket (winter coat will not do!)

Salopettes (ski trousers) Get ones w. an inner cuff, a zip in the lower leg, and braces. 

Ski-gloves (ordinary gloves won’t do for skiing)

Warm hat (ensure it covers the ears)

Neck gaiter (no trailing scarves)

Ski socks (2/3 pairs) (not football socks or hiking socks)

Thermal or base layer – top & bottom (not cotton)

Fleece jumper (thin style to wear under jacket) (for comfort avoid elastic cuff)

Good quality Ski sunglasses or goggles (Sunglasses are often more comfortable for this age group, get a cord to hold them on)

Total block sun cream & stick for lips

APRES-SKI/other stuff Selection of warm clothes to wear in the evening

(we don’t mind if they wear the same clothes more than once!)

Ordinary knitted gloves (can be worn under ski gloves or après-ski)

Boots (Hiking boots. Can wear boots when travelling to save space, be prepared to take them off at airport security!)

Warm Boot Socks, Underwear etc.,

Indoor slippers/flip flops

PJs, Wash bag/towel etc.

Sleeping bag liner (preferable) or single duvet cover

Pillow case

medication (give to Leader) Hair straighteners/curlers etc., etc. Anything in day bag prohibited by

As a rule of thumb, no liquids, no sharp objects

Expected behaviour All Scouts are expected to behave well

and appropriately. Inappropriate or unsafe behaviour will not be accepted. Scouts must follow the directions of Leaders at all times.

In the event of a serious issue or failure to behave appropriately, Leaders can call parents/guardians and the Scout will return home. Please make sure your child is aware of this.
