3rd Grade E-Learning Plans May 12 – May 15 (Week 5)
This work is intended to take one hour each day. Please do your best and remember that your teacher will be checking and grading your work! Check in with your teacher daily to ask questions and to find out how to turn in your work. Use this sheet as a checklist while you work, be sure to read the directions entirely to complete each task. Don’t forget to check the back of this sheet for more directions!
Tuesday:
• Reading o Read Atlantis the Legend of a Lost City in your reading textbook (pg. 502-519).
• Language Arts o Homographs are words that are spelled the same, but have different meanings (and sometimes
different pronunciations). Read The Art of Architecture (pg. 500-501) in your reading textbook. o Complete the homograph worksheet.
• Math o Practice math facts using an app on your iPad for 3-5 minutes. o Perimeter is the distance around the outside of a shape. In order to find it, add the lengths of all
sides of the shape. o Complete the perimeter worksheet.
Wednesday:
• Reading o Read The Art of Architecture in your reading textbook again (pg. 500-501). o Write the definition and draw a picture of each vocabulary word highlighted in the story. o Write a sentence using each vocabulary word. You should write 7 sentences total.
• Math o Practice math facts using an app on your iPad for 3-5 minutes. o Perimeter is the distance around the outside of a shape. o Area is the number of square units inside of a shape. o Complete the area and perimeter worksheet.
Thursday:
• Reading o Read The Famous Thinker, Plato [play-toh] in your reading textbook (pg. 498-499). o While you are reading, come up with a few generalizations about Plato. o Reread Atlantis the Legend of a Lost City in your reading textbook (pg. 502-519).
• Language Arts o After rereading this week’s story, complete the questions on the generalization worksheet. Be
sure to answer in complete sentences with correct capitalization and punctuation. • Math
o Practice math facts using an app on your iPad for 3-5 minutes. o Complete the area and perimeter worksheet.
Friday:
