ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Join us for the 3rd Annual University of Washington Environmental Law Symposium.

This year’s symposium focuses on the latest research and most promising avenues

for advancing environmental justice through law in our region and beyond. The

event is cosponsored by the UW Department of Environmental & Occupational

Health Sciences, the UW Superfund Research Program, the UW Center for

Exposures, Diseases, Genomics and Environment (EDGE), and the Washington

Journal of Environmental Law & Policy. Our one-day gathering will feature discussion

of: research on disparate environmental impacts, the many visions for environmental

justice, the current state of federal and state environmental justice law, potential new

legal avenues for equitable environmental protection, and practices of fair and equal

engagement among different communities of experience and expertise.
