Convenient, single-dose, 100% EO cartridges

To simplify sterilization—andmake it safer—we were the first to engineer a single-dose EO gascartridge. Each Steri-Gas cartridgecontains less than seven ounces of 100% ethylene oxide. No bulky tanks, no potentiallyleaky external valves, no gas linefilters and no ozone depletingchemicals...just a simple, easy-to-load cartridge that is puncturedonly when the proper vacuum has been drawn inside the sterilizerchamber. Negative pressure in the chamber ensures that gas doesnot escape into the work area.

The model 8XL—ournewest dual-cycle EOsterilizer/aerator—offersalmost twice the chamber capacityof our other models. A newsensing system continuouslymonitors relative-humidity in the model 8XL’s 7.9 cu. ft. (223 litres) chamber to protectmoisture-sensitive devices during sterilization.

For dependable accuracy, the latest computer technologycontrols the 8XL’s sterilizationparameters. A video screen allows you to check cycle status, at a glance, at any time.

Vital sterilization parameters—chamber humidity, temperatureand vacuum—are recorded by the8XL’s high-quality, built-inprinter. Also printed are the cyclenumber, temperature selected,aeration time and error or cautioncodes, if they occur during a cycle.

Aeration begins automaticallyafter sterilization as in the othersterilizers, but the 8XL also letsthe operator specify any durationtime from 1 hour to continuousaeration.

To help streamline yoursterilization operations, anoptional remote control panelallows an operator to program as many as four 8XLs from up to250 feet away. System access canbe restricted by adding the master

operator access feature.

Finished exterior panels andflexibility in the 8XL’s designguarantee a finished look, whetherthe 8XL is mounted on its ownfreestanding rack or installed in-wall with optional fascia trim panels.

The 8XL comes with a full-sizedlower basket and two half-sizedupper baskets. A local exhausthood can be added at no extracharge and, for clean roomapplications, a two-door pass-through feature is also available.

XLystems and Components

The model 5XL, a dual-cycle EO gas sterilizer/aerator, has a 4.8 cu. ft.(136 litres) chamber. Its aerationcycle begins automatically aftersterilization. A built-in printerrecords chamber temperature andvacuum, cycle number, temperatureselected and aeration time for eachload. Error and caution codes printif the cycle is interrupted.

The 5XL can be an in-wallinstallation component, or placed on a freestanding stacking rack. Upper and lower baskets are included. A local exhaust hood is available for the model 5XL, as well as a two-door pass-through feature for clean room applications. C h a m b e r d i m e n s i o n s

The model 4XL, also a dual-cycle EO gassterilizer/aerator, has a 4 cu. ft. (115 litres) chamber. Likethe 5XL, its aeration cycle beginsautomatically after sterilizationand a built-in printer recordschamber temperature and vacuum,cycle number, temperature selectedand aeration time for each load.Error and caution codes print ifthe cycle is interrupted.

The 4XL can be installed in-wallor placed on a free-standingstacking rack. Upper and lowerbaskets and a Steri-Vac localexhaust hood are included with the 4XL.

The model XL aeration cabinetcirculates warm filtered air in its 5 cu. ft. (150 litre) chamber.Designed for compatibility withSteri-Vac model 4XL and 5XLsterilizers, it has two selectableaeration temperatures—99°F(37°C) or 131°F (55°C)—and a digital display.

Items needing less time than a fullaeration cycle may be removedbefore cycle completion. A doorlock prevents unauthorized access.

The model XL is equipped forboth continuous operation andcontrol via an adjustable timer—0-99 hours—and it displays the elapsed aeration time. Over-temperature protected, the XL is a closed cabinet ventedto the outside atmosphere. This model also uses Steri-Vacaccessory baskets.

The model XLS aerator is alsoavailable. It is designed tocomplement the double-doorsterilizers. The door is on theopposite side of the aerator so thatit opens on the clean room side.

Steri-Vac XL aerator series

The model 45 drying cabinetdramatically reduces the timerequired to dry inhalation therapyand anesthesia equipment to 1/2-3 hrs. Offering the capacity to dry up to 45 tubes from 1/4-1 3/4 in. (6-44mm), the drying cabinet can hold up to fourbaskets and comes equipped withone removable wire basket fordrying small parts.

The model 50 SCFM Abatorautomatically removes EO gasfrom the airstream exhausted fromSteri-Vac sterilizers and aerators.The abator employs an exothermicreaction using a proprietarycatalyst to convert EO gas intoCO2 and water vapor. At normaloperating temperatures andconcentrations, removal efficiencyis 99.9+%.

A built-in microprocessormonitors operating temperaturesand air flow to ensure longerheater element life. An auto-shutdown delay feature allows the blower to cool internalcomponents for extended life.

The model 50 SCFM abator is acomplete system comprised of anenclosed catalyst bed, air heater,fan and all necessary controls.This complete system is ready for connection to building utilityservice lines and sterilizer vacuumpump exhaust.

The model 6010 transfer cartassists in moving, lifting orlowering materials and supplies inCentral Service/Supply or SterileProcessing. Its stainless steel tabletop can be raised and lowered,with a range of up to 56” high, toenable straight-across load transferto and from the sterilizer chamber.The 6010 table top has beenredesigned with an extension to accommodate 8XL baskets.Carts purchased earlier can beeasily updated to accommodate8XL baskets by adding an 8XLtable extension.

Installation kit

An installation kit is included witheach new sterilizer. Kit for models

8XL, 5XL and 4XL includes vent line tubing, air line hose, air line shut-off valve, air linepressure gauge, plus all necessaryunions, nipples and fittings toconnect sterilizer to customer-supplied vent and air line.
