You must have System Admin privileges on your computer to install the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending Software. Select one of the four upgrade processes listed below depending on which software version you are upgrading from and whether your current database is on your local drive or on a file server (shared drive). I. Process to upgrade from version 5.02 to version 5.03 if the version 5.02 database is on the local drive 1. Click the Exit button on the Main Menu to exit from the version 5.02 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Data Trending Software. 2. Use Windows® Explorer to rename the database from: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus.mdb to: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus_safe.mdb. This prevents the installation wizard from replacing your database with a new blank database, which would wipe out your data. 3. Install the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending software A. Insert the 3M Clean-Trace ATP System CD into the CD/DVD drive on your computer. If the CD does not auto-start, use Windows® Explorer to browse to the CD on your D:\ drive and double-click index.html. B. Select your language from the list.

Refer to Technical Bulletin TB.162639 for more information on the software features included in the version 5.03 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Data Trending Software. You must have System Admin privileges on your computer to install the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending Software. I. Process to upgrade from version 5.02 to version 5.03 if the version 5.02 database is on the local drive 1. Click the Exit button on the Main Menu to exit from the version 5.02 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Data Trending Software. 2. Use Windows® Explorer to rename the database from: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus.mdb to: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus_safe.mdb. This prevents the installation wizard from replacing your database with a new blank database, which would wipe out your data. 3. Install the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending software

C. Use the vertical scroll bar to display the last page of the “Important Information” document and click the Accept button. D. Click 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending Software on the menu to run the 5.03 software installation wizard. E. Follow the instructions from the installation wizard. Accept the defaults.

4. Use Windows® Explorer to rename the databases from: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus.mdb to: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus_blank.mdb from: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus_safe.mdb to: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus.mdb 5. Start the Clean-Trace Data Trending software and change the password

A. Click the Basic Setup button on the Main Menu B. Click the Change Password button on the Basic Setup window C. Enter the Old Password “temp123” D. Enter the New Password (your password) E. Enter the Verify (your password again) F. Press the Enter key then click the Change Password button

II. Process to upgrade from version 5.02 to version 5.03 if the version 5.02 database is on a file server (shared drive) 1. Click the Exit button on the Main Menu to exit from the version 5.02 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Data Trending Software. 2. Install the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending software

A. Insert the 3M Clean-Trace ATP System CD into the CD/DVD drive on your computer. If the CD does not auto-start, use Windows® Explorer to browse to the CD on your D:\ drive and double-click index.html. B. Select your language from the list. C. D. Enter the New Password (your password) E. Enter the Verify (your password again) F. Press the Enter key then click the Change Password button

4. Link the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending software to your database on the file server (shared drive):

A. Go to the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending software Main Menu B. Click the Database Management button. Enter your password. C. Click the Back-End Links Manager button, and browse to your database on the file server (shared drive). Click Open after you select your database. Click OK when message 77 appears saying “successfully linked to data tables in new location”.

5. Rename the database on the local drive to prevent any potential confusion in the future. Use Windows® Explorer to rename the database from: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus.mdb to: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus_blank.mdb III. Process to upgrade from version 3.x or 4.x to version 5.03 if the version if the version 3.x or 4.x database is on the local drive 1. Collect test results from all 3M™ Clean-Trace™ NG Luminometers to prevent the “wrong database” error.

A. Attach the 3M Clean-Trace NG Luminometer to the computer B. Click the Collect Result(s) from Instrument button. C. Select all Sample Plans and Unplanned Results if any. D. Click the Collect button E. Click OK when message 223 appears telling you the results have been retrieved.

2. Use the Reset Instrument feature to clear the memory on the 3M Clean-Trace NG Luminometer.

A. Attach the 3M Clean-Trace NG Luminometer to the computer. B. Click the Database Maintenance button on the Main Menu C. Click the Reset Instrument button.

3. Click the Exit button on the Main Menu to exit from the version 5.02 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Data Trending Software. 4. Install the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending software

A. Go to the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending software Main Menu B. Click the Database Management button. Enter your password. C. Click the Import Sample Plans and Test Points button. Follow the instructions in section 9 of the “3M Clean-Trace Data Trending Software Installation Guide” for detailed instructions. The 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending Software Installation Guide is located on the 3M Clean-Trace ATP System CD in the same menu as the 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending Software. D. Click the Import Measurements button. Follow the instructions in section 9 of the “3M Clean-Trace Data Trending Software Installation Guide” for detailed instructions.

IV. Process to upgrade from version 3.x or 4.x to version 5.03 if the version if the version 3.x or 4.x database is on a file server (shared drive) 1. Collect test results from all 3M™ Clean-Trace™ NG Luminometers to prevent the “wrong database” error.

7. Use Windows® Explorer to move the database to the file server. Move the database from: C:\3MDataTrendingSoftware\B_BiotrackPlus.mdb to: servername\B_BiotrackPlus.mdb. If you do not want to replace the existing file, move the existing file to a different folder before you move the database to the file server. You must have read/write privileges on the file server (shared drive). 8. Link the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending software to your database on the file server (shared drive):

A. Go to the version 5.03 3M Clean-Trace Data Trending software Main Menu B. Click the Database Management button. Enter your password. C. Click the Back-End Links Manager button, and browse to your database on the file server (shared drive). Click Open after you select your database. Click OK when message 77 appears saying “successfully linked to data tables in new location”.
