PCB Considerations



When the vertical header is mated with the 3M™ Wiremount Socket, 451 Series the combined above board height of the assembly measures just .260" (or .320" with a 3M™ Strain Relief Clip, 3448 Series attached) making it one of the lowest profile wire-to-board systems on the market today

In the right-angle configuration* the above-board height is just .230".

3M™ Shrouded Boardmount Header is available with or without ejector latches - the assembly method allows the addition of positive latch and ejection functionality with minimal added size.

Friction latch configurations increase protection against accidental disconnection, especially in high vibration environments.

Securing and Removal



The 3M™ Wire-to-Board System, 450 Series is a complete end-to-end interconnect system for wire-to-board applications using .025” ribbon cable

Two part system:― 3M Wiremount Socket, 451 Series with BeCu IDC contacts ― 3M Boardmount Header, 452 Series with optional latches

1.27 mm/.050” grid system saves space on the PCB― Compared to .100”/2.54 mm and 2 mm alternatives

Delivers on performance, reliability and cost savings Accessories increase reliability of the connection in use
