DescriptionBAE Systems, a Department of Defense Contractor, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work in ourBattery Technology Center (BTC) in Rockville, Maryland. The BTC tests a wide variety ofelectrochemical power sources for its customers, conducts battery materials R&D, and designs and

fabricates prototype specialty batteries and chargers. The individual who fills this position will supportour customers in a variety of ways.

The duties for this individual may include a combination of the following:The design and fabrication of mechanical housings for custom battery packs, adapters, and testfixtures; materials characterization (harness and tensile testing); rapid prototyping using a Titan FDM,vacuum forming, and injection molding; development of weld schedules; preparing reports anddocumentation; providing technical oversight and guidance for ongoing projects; andinterfacing with the customer on new and ongoing projects.

Candidates applying for this position must have a degree in mechanical engineering; should beproficient in using SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint);

and should have experience with CosmosWorks or similar Finite Element Analysispackage is desired.
