    RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE (In Metric)

    Layer Creation1. Create the appropriate layers for the drawing shown in Figure 12.

    (5 marks)

    Creating Building Walls

    2. Draw the floor plan as shown in Figure 1 in millimeter (convert to metric - Conversion factor - 300 mm = 1)(20 marks)

    3. Extrude regions 4800 mm high (converted from 8' + 8' = 16').

    Creating Doors and Windows Openings

    4. Create the door and window spaces as shown in Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 5 (in mm)with the use of the UCS,

    BOX, CYLINDER etc. commands.

    (15 marks)

    5. Subtract the inner solids from the exterior solids - walls (DO1, WO1, and WO2 and the combination of the box

    and the cylinder, DO2, to create the doors and windows openings from the building as shown in Figure 5.

    6. Switch to the front view and draw pline shown in hidden lines in Figure 4.

    (12 marks)7. Extrude pline (polyline) 9300 mm (check top view to ensure solid lines up with the building).

    (5 marks)

    8. Subtract solids from the walls to create the sloping top of the building.

    (5 marks)

    Creating and Inserting Door and Window Symbols (Blocks)

    9. Create 3D door and windows as on Page 6 (Figures 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10) using various views (2D and 3D views) and

    rotate the glass (blades) at an angle. [Design can be modified slightly]

    (30 marks)

    10. Create a door knob on the door at an appropriate location on the door.(5 marks)

    11. Convert objects (door and windows) to blocks with insertion points (base point) being at the lower left corner.

    (12 marks)

    12. Insert blocks such as (door and windows) into the openings and furniture in the building.(28 marks)

    Creating the Roof

    13. Create a ridge rafter (50 mm wide x 200 mm high x 9900 mm long) on the top of the building.

    (5 marks)

    14. Create common rafters (50 mm x 150 mm) at 600 O/C with 450 mm overhang.

    (15 marks)

    15. Created a gable roof (Roof Covering of your Choice) with 450 mm overhang on (above) the common rafters.

    (10 marks)

    Creating the Floor

    16. Create a 100mm slab floor as shown in Figure 11.

    Creating the Property

    17. Create a level property using (3D Face command or Planar surface) with size of your choice for the building to be

    located on as shown in Figure 12.

    (5 marks)

    18. Create TWO (2) trees at any location on the property at distances of your choice on the property (away from

    the house).

    (5 marks)

    19. Create a fence (block), design of your choice, and place it around the property.(20 marks)

    Rendering the Drawing

    20. Create two external views with appropriate backgrounds and name them SCENE 1 & 2. Apply TWO (2) light

    sources, to each scene (day and night scene) at locations of your choice to the building with shadow on. Create

    two camera views of the inside of the building with lights and name them SCENE 3 & 4.

    (24 marks)

    21. Apply different materials to various parts of the completed building and property (walls, floor, rafters, roof, doors,

    window frame and glass, fence, etc.)

    (20 marks)

    Save File

    22. eTransmit the file and name the zipped folder [your name 3D Final Project] and add the rendered image of the

    drawing in the folder.

    (11 marks)

    Soft copy of project should be uploaded to the Moodle site by the due date. * No late finalProject will beaccepted.
