Summer Camp is back and better than ever! We’re energized and excited to give our campers an incredible experience full of new friends, new adventures, and positive role models. With day camps for kids of all ages, we’ll be providing plenty of new activities for preschoolers, children, and teens to awaken their imaginations. The addition of our brand new Aquatic Center will make swimming an even more integral part of our unique Summer Camp experience. Our team has also been busy connecting with campers and families to further develop our programming. We’ve made some new additions that are sure to make Summer Camp at the Meadowlands Y even better than last year’s. MEET NEW FRIENDS, EXPLORE & PRETEND Kiddie Camp combines the excitement of a YMCA summer camp with an educational twist. Campers will enjoy free swim time in the new Y pool, outdoor play, educational games, interactive science projects, literacy activities, theme-based crafts, and special event days with guests.

Located in our new Mara Center for Early Childhood Learning, we’ll focus on providing your little ones with a variety of age-appropriate activities designed to the build confidence, self-reliance, social skills, teamwork, and friendships to provide the proper foundation for kindergarten and beyond! Each week will have its own exciting theme that games and projects are based around, such as dinosaurs, nature exploration, beach week, and more.

Kiddie Camp is hosted in the Mara Center for Early Childhood Learning,

our new, state-of-the-art preschool within the Meadowlands Y. The center

features bright, open classrooms, a turfed outdoor playground, and access

to Y amenities like the swimming pool and Gatorade Gym.

WHERE IMAGINATION MEETS RECREATION What do you get when you combine imagination with recreation? Camp Discovery! Hosted at the Meadowlands Y, this camp has it all under one roof for ages 5 to 13. Campers will enjoy swimming, a variety of different sports, ping-pong, fusbol, arts and crafts, science projects, STEM activities, cooking lessons, and plenty of time swimming and playing in the pool. Campers will exercise their minds and bodies, all while building friendships with each other. All of our interactive activities will be held in the new Meadowlands YMCA building, giving every camper access to an expansive variety of engaging and collaborative experiences in a cool and safe environment.

ADVENTURE AWAITS! The YMCA’s Travel Camps take to the road with a combination of exciting field trips and activities in our camp facilities. Campers will enjoy new experiences by going on excursions every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Mondays and Fridays, they’ll participate in swimming at our YMCA pools and other activities in their home base camps. Our trained camp counselors help to ensure every day is safe and supervised, so parents can rest easy knowing their young ones are in a secure environment.

TRAVEL CAMPS

The CIT camps at the Y gives youth early work experience, employing 61,000 young adults as summer camp leaders each year, guiding their career interests in youth development.

CAMP TRAILBLAZERSAGES 11 - 14 WEEKLY • JUN 25 – AUG 24 (No Camp WED 7/4)

Camp Trailblazer activities are designed to encourage decision-making skills by providing fun, challenging, and character-building experiences. Each week includes games, sports, community service projects, special event days, field trips, and more. This camp is held in the new Meadowlands YMCA facility, which features the NBA-grade Gatorade gymnasium (former practice headquarters of the NBA Nets), Teen Center with ping-pong tables, fusbol and plenty of games, and our brand new Aquatics Centers with a 6-lane, 25-yard swimming pool. Teen Camp features 3 days of travel for various age-appropriate field trips around the Tri-State area. Mondays and Fridays will include swimming and activities in the pool.

COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING (CIT) AGES 14 - 15Min 4 weeks WEEKLY • JUN 25 – AUG 17 (No Camp WED 7/4)

Building Tomorrow’s Leaders TodayDevelop your child’s career potential by becoming a CIT this summer! They’ll learn valuable lessons in leadership, organization and responsibility that will build a strong foundation to help them excel in any career path. CITs work with our Teen Camp Director and staff to develop the management skills and strategies that are vital in today’s job market. They’ll also gain the experience needed become Y Camp Counselor next year.

It’s not all work and no play! CITs also get to enjoy field trips, swimming, and all other activities for campers. It’s truly a win-win! They’ll receive a 50% discount off the price of Camp for their work. Formal application and additional paperwork is required.

PLAY WHERE THE PROS PLAY What kid doesn’t dream about playing on an NBA basketball court? Since the Meadowlands YMCA’s Gatorade Gymnasium is the former Nets practice facility and still has the original floor and backboards, you can actually practice like a Pro. Campers will have the chance to hone their skills while learning the value of teamwork and sportsmanship. Children will be grouped according to age. We offer an atmosphere of fun and fitness for young maturing athletes to learn the love of the game and grow in confidence through skills development and team building activities.

Let’s take those day dreams of sports stardom and make them a reality! In Sports Camp, we’ll explore a variety of sports, including basketball, soccer, football, volleyball, tennis, swimming, and non-traditional sports, like badminton. We’ll focus on both developing skills and playing in scrimmages for a well-rounded summer of sports fun.

Through insightful daily lessons, campers will learn the history, rules, and key skills of each sport. Our Sports Camp will also teach the value of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic. Campers will also have daily free swim and enjoy additional camp activities that focus on building camaraderie and contributing as a team player.

BASKETBALL CAMP WEEKLY • JUL 23 – AUG 17 (No Camp WED 7/4)

Take your basketball skills to the next level this summer on the NBA-grade courts at the Meadowlands YMCA! Campers will hone their athletic abilities by further developing dribbling skills, jump shots, defensive techniques and more, in the former practice headquarters of the NBA Nets. Camp will include clinic sessions in the morning and friendly scrimmages against with other campers in the afternoon. Campers will also

participate in daily free swims and other camp activities in the new Meadowlands YMCA pool that are sure to make this summer

a slam dunk!

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! Miss Mano (Melissa Manolakakis) is back again and directing for the 10th Annual YMCA Musical Theater Camp! Whether your child dreams of being a Broadway Star, or simply loves to entertain, this is the camp for them!

From singing to acting to dancing, we’ll help bring out the best in your little star! No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to perform and have FUN! Every camper receives a solo and speaking roll if desired, but it’s not required. We believe that all roles in our musical are equally important and valuable and want all campers feel comfortable in this educational environment. All desired singing and speaking rolls will be divided evenly and customized within the first three days of camp.

Our Musical Theater Camp will culminate in a 60-minute performance for family and friends on the final days of each camp session. This is an excellent opportunity to learn different aspects of musical theatre. Skills learned include: stage directions, script reading, vocal technique, ensemble numbers, skits, acting techniques, theatre dance, improv games, audition tips, featured solos and
