M EMBERS of the record-break-ing O.U. graduating class of 1939 lost notime in getting located in the businessand professional world, though they scat-tered to twenty-nine states, the District ofColumbia and even foreign lands in pur-suit of their vocations .

The Alumni Office had received directinformation from more than six hundredfifty members of the class as this issue ofSooner Magazine went to press, and morereplies to a direct mail survey were stillcoming in .

Only forty-five of all those reportingfailed to indicate some definite occupation .

Approximately seventy per cent of thenew graduates remained in Oklahoma .

Others reported from Arkansas, Cali-fornia, Colorado, District of Columbia,Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas,Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mich-igan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri,Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, NewYork, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn-sylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Vir-ginia, Washington, and Wisconsin .Two graduates of the medical school are

serving interneship in Vancouver, B.C ., inCanada. An engineering alumnus is work-ing in Winnipeg, Manitoba . In the otherdirection, South American oil fields haveattracted four engineers who received de-grees this year . A geology graduate is inthe service of the Venezuelan govern-ment .

One '39 alumnus is continuing academicwork as a student at Hebrew Universityin Jerusalem, Palestine, apparently themost distant point to which any of the '39alumni have gone .

The occupations of the members of theclass are as varied as their places of resi-dence. Teaching claims a far greater num-her than any other single field, especiallyamong those who have remained in Okla-homa . The vocations of law, engineering, nursing, pharmacy, business, medicine, journalism, and homemaking have beenchosen by the majority of the remainder .

Possibly the largest group besides teach-ers, however, consists of more than a hun-dred who have remained in Norman asstudents in the graduate school .Sooner Magazine has prepared the fol-

lowing geographical directory of the '39graduates who have reported to the Alum-ni Office :
