Overview This conference on pediatric infectious diseases will cover topics of interest to pediatricians, family physicians, and other primary care providers for children and young adults.These include updates on: the AAP Red Book; infectious disease diagnostics; COVID-19; HIV; antimicrobial stewardship, antibiotic dosing and zoonotic infections.
Objectives• Describe newest data on prevention, diagnosis and
management of influenza, coronavirus and other infectious diseases in pediatrics.
• Describe the basic principles and the CDC guidance on outpatient antimicrobial stewardship.
• Describe the presentation, diagnosis and prevention of HIV.
• Describe updates to the prevention and management of pediatric infectious diseases in the 2021 Red Book.
Continuing Education CreditContinuing Medical Education Credit: Children’s Hospital Colorado is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Children’s Hospital Colorado designates this Other activity (Internet Live Course) for a maximum of 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
ABP MOC Part 2: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity and individual assessment of and feedback to the learner, enables the learner to earn up to 7.0 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.
AAP Credit: This continuing medical education activity has been reviewed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and is acceptable for a maximum of 7.00 AAP credits. These credits can be applied toward the AAP CME/CPD Award available to Fellows and Candidate Members of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
