Zucchero is Yorcard’s Service to support the sale to passengers of multi-use smart products, including Travel Money, multi operator and single operator period passes, and smartcards themselves. Longer validity products are not suited to on-bus sales due to their high value and Zucchero gives you the tools to sell these products off-bus.

To get the most out of Zucchero, you will need to accept “Yorcard Travel Money”. EYMS and Transdev Blazefi eld have agreed to accept “Yorcard Travel Money” on their buses once it is launched. Yorcard also offers direct assistance to all bus operators in their aim of becoming smart enabled.

Yorcard Travel MoneyBy “adding Zucchero” to your service you enable an “Oyster-like” Travel Money service for passengers and operators in your area. “Yorcard Travel Money”, which can be branded to your own requirements, allows passengers to load value to a smartcard which can be exchanged for travel products. “Yorcard Travel Money” is a painless way of creating a multi-operator travel card. Your travel money card can be accepted by all the operators in your area, and all the settling of funds will be carried out by Yorcard.

Zucchero enables you to sell “Yorcard Travel Money” in libraries, tourist information centres, bus stations or any other customer service centres you operate. All Zucchero requires is an internet connected computer at your customer service point. Yorcard will settle directly with the bus operators when “Yorcard Travel Money” is used on the operator’s services.

Many passengers will already have smartcards to which “Yorcard Travel Money” can be added. For passengers who don’t, Yorcard can provide smartcards branded to your requirements. You can purchase cards in batches of 1,000, from Yorcard. Alternatively you can provide your own cards using either in house equipment or a card production bureau for which Yorcard will provide all necessary branding and encoding details.

Multi Operator and Single Operator Travel CardsYou may already have or be an agent to sell paper travel tickets and wish to sell the smart equivalent. Alternatively you may wish to convert your paper tickets or create new products or smartcards.

Zucchero enables you to sell multi operator and single operator travel cards in your outlets which can be encoded to existing plastic cards held by customers or disposable smartcards. Disposable smartcards allow non-smart operators to also accept the products by using them as flash passes.

BaristaZucchero gives you a license to use Yorcard’s Point of Sale software, Barista. Each sales period Yorcard will provide you with a sales report and a comprehensive financial statement.

Zucchero makes smart ticketing sales easy to manage and with Barista Yorcard provides you with a user friendly interface for your sales team.
