MissionVisiting Nurse provides compassionate care to alleviate suffering

and ensure quality of life for those affected by serious illness.

Proudly celebrating 132 years of service in our community, Visiting Nurse is a non-profit, community-based organization, governed by a board of directors comprised

of community representatives. Visiting Nurse provides hospice and palliative care in patient homes, care facilities and in the agency’s 14-bed unit, Hospice Home. We also

serve those who go on living, through the Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center, the region’s only free-standing center dedicated to grieving adults. Serving 11 counties in northeast Indiana, the Visiting Nurse team tends to the needs of both the patient and the family by providing compassionate nursing care, spiritual support and emotional support and grief counselors offer support before and after the death of a loved one.

It is the mission of Visiting Nurse to provide care to patients regardless of the ability to pay. Through special events, grants from foundations and corporations and donations from individuals like you, Visiting Nurse is able to provide special services and programs not covered by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance.
