Harmonic minor key chord charts
Harmonic minor key is the classical minor scale; I think it is the true minor scale because the
natural minor ones is similar to the major scale while melodic minor scale is less used. This scalehas minor major seventh chord on the first degree; there are major chords on III and VI; half
diminished chord is on the second degree, diminished 7 on VII and minor seventh is on fourthone. Dominant seventh chord is on V and it has also minor ninth and minor sixth!

The tonic 7th chord in Harmonic Minor is a minor/major seventh NOT a major seventh as you have
shown. So, for A minor harmonic, the first chord is Aminor/major 7th.
Yes, you are right but I mean this with that notation
m= minor chord
j7= seventh major
Melodic minor key chord chart
Melodic minor scale is less used than natural and harmonic scales but it is important. Pay
attention to IV degree ( seventh chord with augmented 4th) and to II degree (min 7th )

These chord charts are the harmonic base of classical, jazz and pop music. They derive, aboveall, from J.S. Bach but also other great classical composers.
Considerations on seventh chords and their key
Seventh chords are complete chords, in the sense that they have the main notes that determine
the harmony of a chord. The fundamental, the third, the fifth and the seventh (said "chordal
notes") does understand the key and the type of a chord. Besides they may determine, comparingwith the neighboring chords to what key it belongs and then from what scale's degree is
produced. In my pop blues music, I use nearly only seventh chords that have a complex but nontoo dissonant sound.
You can learn everything about improvisation reading articles, watching tutorial videos andlistening solos published on the Web. Internet offers you a great resource to learn music
harmony, theory and improvisation but the best resource is your passion for this art!

Dominant 7 chord charts : inversions
Here are all dominant seventh chord inversions. This chord is much used in blues music and its derived
styles. The blues structure is characterized by the constant use of this chord. Besides the simpler blues
structure is formed only by three dominant seventh chords. Even in the classical music, it was much
used and it was considered almost a consonance: in fact, its seventh did not need the preparation; you
do need to feel it previously as consonant tune in another chord. It could be played enough freely.
However, memory that in accordance with the classical harmony and not only, the seventh of a chord is
well that descends, to resolve the tension that creates. For example, considering the C7 chord, the Bb
(seventh) is well that moving, nearly always, descend to A, the third of F Maj, that is the third of the
tonic chord.

Harmonic and perceptive considerations on major seventh
chord
The major seventh chord gives to the listener a sense of spatial opening. It is in other words asolar, gladden and ample chord. It gives often a sense of rest, reassurance, and stasis, above all
using simply the major triad. The major seventh note, instead, creates a strong movement of sonorous opening, creating in the music a light. This chord harmonically is above all a first
degree in the major key, but sometimes a fourth degree in major key. You have to be careful todistinguish if a major chord is a I or IV degree because based on this you have to change the
scale to use over it. For example, if there is F sharp in the key signature (GMaj) and you have inyour song a CMaj7 chord, it is IV and not I degree. Therefore you have to use the G major and
NOT C major scale.

Minor seventh chord has a beautiful sound and I have sincerely to say that among the five
families of chords, this is my preferred. It has a sweet, soft but also darken, mysterious andexpressive sound. There are famous songs (see for example, 'So what" by Miles Davis) based
only on this chord.
Here is the minor seventh chord chart. In this chart I wrote minor seventh chord as a II degree in major
key.

The half diminished or "minor seventh chord with diminished fifth" is above all in minor keys.
In the major key the half diminished 7 chord is on the scale's seventh degree but it is less used inthis key context. It is just a dominant seventh chord's substitution (on the fifth degree). In fact, in
major key, the half diminished chord can be considered a dominant seventh chord with the ninthand with the third on bass.

Diminished 7 chord charts : structures
Diminished chord is on the :
y VII degree of the harmonic minor scale
In this page there are diminished 7 chords in all keys and in 4 inversions
It is a chord with an ambiguous, indefinite, and vague sound. This sound ambiguity makes it a
tune joker, because it may be considered in different ways. Now I explain. The diminished
seventh chord is perfectly symmetrical: it is constituted only by minor thirds intervals. If you
play an inversion of this chord you can realize the distance between the various notes remainsunchanged. In other words, every diminished seventh chord inversion has only minor third
intervals. For example, A diminished seventh chord can be considered also C, E flat (or D sharp)and G flat (or F sharp) diminished seventh chord.
Every diminished seventh chord is equal (enharmonic) to other three chords: only the theoreticalnotes¶ name, the key to which chord belongs and the fundamental bass note change. For
example: C dim7 is equal (enharmonic) to Eb dim7, Gb dim7 and A dim7. In other pages, I willtell you what theories and concepts derive from this ambiguity.

Modulations with diminished seventh chords
The diminished seventh chord is used often to modulate that is to change key. With this chord,
you can practically go to any key that is you can modulate in every key. For example, if youwant to modulate from C Major Key to F#min you can use E# dim7 or F dim7 and then add the
tonic chord of the new key, that is F#min or F#min7
