Women’s Day Celebration 8th
March 2017
Event Organized By – SKN Sinhgad School of Business Management
Dr. Rajashree Shinde, Director
Event Coordinator: Prof. Sadhna Ogale
Worldwide, women continue to contribute to social, economic, cultural and political
achievements. Same time the progress towards the gender parity has slowed down in many
places. As per the World Economic Forum prediction in the year 2014, was that it would take
2095 to achieve global gender parity, however one year later in 2015, they estimated a slowed
down progress in the already glacial pace of progress. This meant that gender parity wouldn‟t be
achieved until 2133.
Everyone - men and women - can pledge to take a concrete step to help achieve gender parity
more quickly - whether to help women and girls achieve their ambitions, call for gender-
balanced leadership, respect and value difference, develop more inclusive and flexible cultures or
root out workplace bias. Each of us can be a leader within our own spheres of influence and
commit to take pragmatic actions to accelerate gender parity. Keeping this in view, faculty and
students of SKNSSBM organized various cultural programmes. on the theme “Pledge for
parity”.
The event took place in the presence of Director Hon. Dr. Rajashree Shinde. She graced the
occasion by addressing students that they should celebrate every day as a women‟s day. Event
enthusiastically hosted by Prof. Dr. Nutan Samdhani. The event was successfully coordinated by
Prof. Prof. Sadhna Ogale and Prof. Jyotsna Jadhav.
