Barre ConceptBarre is a fusion of Ballet, Pilates, Yoga and resistance training. Set to up–tempo music, this class gives you a fast and fun full–body workout – no tutu needed!
Body AttackA sports inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high energy interval class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilisation movements.
Body BalanceThe Yoga, Thai Chi, Pilates workout that builds fl exibility and strength. Stretches, moves and poses set to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony.
Body CombatA cardio workout inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide range of disciplines such as Karate, Boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai.

Circuits/Express CircuitsOur highly–qualifi ed staff take control in these sessions, with each class combining conditioning, resistance and aerobic exercise in diff erent ways throughout the week.
Fitness YogaAn upbeat, slightly faster fl owing version of the regular yoga classes, focusing on improving range of motion and fl exibility.
Fitness PilatesThis class incorporates pilates–based movements into a choreographed routine designed to strengthen and lengthen the body.
Group CycleNEW: Our brand new studio and bikes enhance your workout, keeping you motivated and working hard.
Just Jog – FREEAn outdoor jogging club for those who wish to improve their fi tness. Designed for those who wish to improve their 5–10k disciplines, this class has a good combination of shorter and longer campus routes, hill sessions and conditioning.
KettlebellsA cast iron weight (resembling a cannon ball with a handle) used to perform ballistic exercises that combine cardiovascular work with strength and fl exibility training.
Legs, Bums & Tums (LBT)A class focused on notoriously problematic areas, aimed at improving tone, defi nition, strength and endurance.
Metafi tA 30 minute class based on the principles of high–intensity interval training (HIIT). This session uses nothing but your own body weight – and 100% of your eff ort each round!
Metabolic Eff ectA rest based workout, dedicated to the after burn created by using dumbells, calisthenics, plyometrics and hybrid exercises.
Over 50’s FitnessDon’t be fooled – this is no walk in the park! Although your exercise will be low impact and injury rehabilitation is key, this class is as hard as you want to make it. A mix of aerobic exercise is ofter complimented with weights–based and core exercises.
PilatesA form of body conditioning that focuses on spinal and pelvic alignment. It also encourages breathing control, co–ordination and balance. A great way to improve your core and relieve stress.
Pure Stretch/StretchDesigned to lengthen the body, strengthen the core, increase your range of movement, decrease your risk of injury and improve your quality of life.
Step & ToneA cardio workout to ensure a good burn of calories and a good muscle toning. A range of exercises for toning the upper body, arms, shoulders, legs, thighs and abdomen.
Total Tone A weight-based group fi tness class that challenges every muscle group in your body by using weights and music to help you strengthen and tone.
TreadfastDo you get bored easily when you’re running on a treadmill? This class transforms your usual treadmill routine into a fun and engaging group exercise.
ZumbaMove your body to Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Reggeaton, Mambo, Cha–Cha and Hip Hop. Combining fast and slow rhythm to tone and sculpt your body whilst burning fat.
Zumba GoldDesigned for the older adult, this fun dance–based class uses the same routines as regular Zumba, but with less intensity and modifi ed movement patterns.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE l Members must book on to classes they wish to attend. Bookings for classes open 10 days in advance.
l On the day of the class the member must collect a ticket before the advertised class start time. They can do this via reception or the fast track kiosk.
l Members will be denied access and no further tickets will be printed once the advertised start time has passed.
l Studio Instructors will collect tickets from all members; any members who fail to present a valid ticket will be denied access to the class.
l Members who fail to attend and do not give suffi cient notice will be taken note of, should a member get 3 notes in a 2 week period their prior booking rights will be removed for 2 weeks.
l A suffi cient notice is classifi ed as any time before the advertised start time of the class.
l Members will be notifi ed when they have failed to turn up to a class via e-mail.
l The studio doors will be locked from the advertised start time of the class to ensure no further admittance to the class.

From time to time the timetable may be subject to change due to events, galas and public holidays. Every eff ort will be made to provide advance notice of any alterations to the established programme which will be advertised.
This policy has been implemented after feedback from members about our classes, start times and booking procedures and has been brought in line to ensure a fair experience for all at York Sport whilst ensuring members can access the classes in a safe manner.
