2015 TUBA-EUPHONIUM WORKSHOP

Welcome to the 32nd Annual United States Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Workshop, the largest of its kind in the world. We are proud to host this event here at Brucker Hall on Fort Myer—home of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own.”

Since the inception of this workshop in 1983, there have been many notable and brilliant performances. As you peruse this year’s schedule, you’ll see another world-class lineup—Patrick Sheridan, Dr. Brian Bowman, Demondrae Thurman, Dr. Benjamin Pierce, and Marty Erickson.

Once again we have organized a Mock Service Band Audition which will be held from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Saturday. A new addition to our event is the Tuba-Euphonium Workshop Composition Contest. We received 49 chamber pieces of varying combinations for tuba and euphonium. A recital on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. will showcase the winning compositions. There will be vendors in the Fort Myer Community Center on Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Also, please spread the word that ALL workshop events will be live web streamed at usarmyband.com for those who are unable to attend in person.

I hope you will enjoy your visit to Brucker Hall and leave with fond memories of great performances, new insights, and lasting friendships.

COL Timothy J. Holtan, Leader and Commander The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own”
