“We are a diverse faith-community that strives to conform ourselves into the image of

Christ in and through the power of the Holy Spirit, and nourished by The Word,

Sacraments and Tradition to give glory to God and to be a light unto the nations.”

Allow me to share with you a reflection from Fr. Frank Mihalic's "1000 Stories You Can Use."

"Let The Air Out"

Every now and then we hear the story of the big truck which gets stuck under a low overhead bridge. Nobody knows what to do until a small boy (or sometimes an out-patient from the mental hospital) suggests that they let the air out of the tires. This done, the truck now a couple inches lower, grazes through. The moral is that a bit of deflation can help us all at times.

"In the meantime, the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast saying, 'O God, be merciful to me, a sin-ner." (Lk 18:13) The tax collector shows us what "letting the air out" means. It is to acknowledge the fact that we only have our sins to show to God. If we let the air out of ourselves, we are then able to enter through the narrow door of God's merciful heart.

"It is better for us to be the ones to let our air out than wait for God to do it for us." Family Promise will be from November 6 to 13. We will once again be receiving into our church some homeless families to offer them shelter and food for a week. Please support us financially so we can generously show them love and hospitality. We are blessed to have our Family Promise Team under the leadership of Mabel Ng. "When I was a stranger, you made me welcome." (Mt 25:35) All Souls' Day is fast approaching. I encourage you to please offer masses for your loved ones. An All Souls' Day Book of Remembrance will be set up inside the church and we shall offer masses for them for the whole month of November. turkey with the donor’s name which will be located in the

Vestibule area of the church during the months of October and

November. Donations can be make by using the envelopes provided in the

TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY! In announcing his deci-

sions to declare a Holy Year of Mercy, Pope Francis said, ―Dear

brothers and sisters, I have often thought about how the Church

might make clear its mission of being a witness to mercy.‖ Support-

ing the young churches throughout the world with your prayers and

generous gifts is indeed a merciful witness of this mission. The col-

lection today will help missionaries offer the poor of these areas

practical help as they share the mercy of God. It will ensure the de-

velopment of local dioceses, and support the work of priests, reli-

gious and lay leaders who serve those on the margins and in most

need. Extend your merciful witness to the whole world through your

gift in today’s collection for the Society for the Propagation of the

Faith!

financieramente tan generosamente podemos mostrarles amor y hospitali-dad.

Me gustaría agradecer a nuestra Directora, Sra.
