AreaSPEBSQSA Chapter Opens Winter Season Resuming a fall meeting schedule are members of tho Torrance chapter of the Society for the Preservation and En- couragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA), it was announced here yesterday by Lloyd Hill. .The group, dedicated to "good,;old-fashioned harmony" and fellowship will meet at South High School's music room (R-l) each Monday eve- ning at 7:30. "It is now the beginning of the winter season," Hill said, "a good time to devote one eve- ning a week to the fun and good-fellowship to be derived from 'ringing' chords with other men in good old har- mony." Although SPEBSQSA places first emphasis on quartet de- velopment, each chapter start* with a chorus. The quartet de- velops from this nucleus, but singing experience is offered to all.
