    (Leviticus 22:17-22) 1. Leviticus is one of the five books written by Moses. What is the main theme and purpose of the Book of Leviticus? 2. Why was Aaron and his sons specifically mentioned in Leviticus 22:18? 3. What significant role did burnt offerings have in the wor-ship of the Israelites? 4. What truth was the Lord revealing about worship in re-quiring His people to sacrifice animals that were perfect or without blemish? 5. Why is a distinction made between a free will offering and an offering to fulfill a vow in Leviticus 22:23? 6. Exodus 20:8 (KJV) Key Truth: Keeping a Sabbath day of rest allows the Lord to restore our souls. STUDY QUESTIONS

    (Exodus 20:8-11) 1. This weeks lesson highlights one of the Ten Commandants God gave to the Israelites. Discuss the significance of the Ten Commandments for the Israelites and for Gods people today. 2. What is the meaning of the word Sabbath? 3. Since God does not get tired, what purpose did He fulfill when He rested from creating the world? (See Exodus 20:11.) (Exodus 31:12-16) 4. In Exodus 31:13, the plural word Sabbaths is used by the Lord when giving instructions to the children of Israel. In addition to the Sabbath Day, what other Sabbaths were the Israelites to observe? 5. Based on Exodus 31:13 & 15, why is it essential that the Lords people observe a Sabbath of rest? 6. The Israelites were given severe consequences for failing to keep the Sabbath day holy in Exodus 30:14. What conse-quences do people experience today when they fail to ob-serve a Sabbath day of rest? 7. What did Jesus reveal about the purpose and observance of the Sabbath in Matthew 12:1-4 and Mark 2:23-28? 8. How is the Sabbath day of rest fulfilled by Christians?

(Mark 12:41-44) 7. Research and discuss the customary way people gave money in the temple treasury. 8. What does Jesus statement in Mark 12:43-44 teach us about His standard for giving. What does it further teach us about the equality in the principle of tithing?
