Highlights of the ESOP31 Meeting• Beautiful location on the Adriatic Coast east of Rome• I renewed acquaintances with European colleagues, and

met new observers; interesting cultural program organized by Costantino Sigismondi

• Most active IOTA section chasing TNO occultations• Plans of expeditions from France, Germany, and Spain to

video record the November 13th total solar eclipse from the path edges, but

• Decided to make one last effort for the 2017 August US total solar eclipse, then probably defer the solar diameter measurements to space-based observations

• History of the HMNAO occultation machine• Wieth-Knudsen Award
