The Neighborhood of Value illustrates the variety of initiatives HBAG has recently been hard at

work fighting for on behalf of the membership.

house because of HBAG’s success in defeating mandated fire sprinklers

in one and two family dwellings.

$3,000The average amount saved per townhouse in fire sprinkler requirements because of HBAG’s successful campaign to have the definition of a townhouse clarified to state that sprinklers are not required if there is a two hour fire wall separation between units.

$2,000Savings on code books, trainings, etc. by

skipping the adoption of the majority of the 2009 I-Codes for construction. This also allowed

more time for review of the 2012 codes.

amendment to the 2012 IRC to delete required fire protection

underneath floors.

HBAG’s successful efforts to skip the adoption of the 2012 Energy Code.
