bull Arab Ministers exhausted the idea of having a regional QAA body amp requested further studies(premature to establish such a body before every country has its own QAA system in place)

bull The Ford Foundation allocated funds to support a study conducted by the UNESCO office in Beirut to explore the best mode for regional collaboration based on a field study among Arab countries

bull UNESCO Headquarters collaboration initiatives among countries in the Arab region

bull Further discussions in a follow-up meeting during Academia Egypt 2004 (November) where three scenarios were discussedbull Project adopted by a regional organizationbull A Confederation of Arab Accrediting Bodiesbull Establishing an NGO

bull Culminated in Academia Cairo 2005 (December) bybull adopting the NGO scenariobull officially declaring the startup of ASQAEbull forming the General Assembly
