Pentecost Sunday Celebration June 9, 2019 Sacred Heart, St. Pius X, Christ the King, Ascension of our Lord, St. Alexander,
St. John the Apostle, Immaculate Conception, Visitation, Mary Queen of Heaven, St. Alexis, St. Charles Borromeo, St. Philip, St. Joseph, St. Peter, Holy Ghost, and St. Andrew Kim
The members of all of the 16 parishes in the Eastern DuPage Deanery in the Diocese of Joliet are invited to join in the celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit. The sacred Easter season officially comes to an end on the Solemnity of Pentecost, June 9. All of us are called to give witness to the presence of the Spirit in our lives. You are especially invited on this day to consider how you will show the guidance of the Holy Spirit in your life. Please consider making a difference, as we celebrate the birthday of the church, by the ways in which we proclaim that we are Christ’s followers.
∗ Invite a friend or neighbor to come to church with you! ∗ Go out of your way to encourage someone to come to Mass that perhaps does not regularly attend! ∗ All day on June 9, wear the colors of the Holy Spirit. Red, Yellow, and Orange clothing can be
outward reminders of the presence of the Spirit. Congratulate others, when you see them dressed this way, for proclaiming the presence of the Spirit!
∗ Show that you are filled with the Holy Spirit in any way you can by reaching out to a stranger or a needy person. Talk to others after Mass that you normally don’t talk to!
∗ Pray with thanks for the gifts of the Holy Spirit and think about how important they are in your life!
