(b) A person with Low Vision means one with impairment ofvisual functioning even after treatment of standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentiallycapable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assistive device. 4.Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI): (a) Deaf are those persons in whom the sense of hearing is non-functional for ordinary purposes of life, i.e. with total loss of hearing in both ears. They do not hearand understand sounds at all - even with amplified speech. (b) Hearing impairment means loss ofmore than 60 decibels in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. 3 : RESERVATIONIN POSTS :

As the Reservation for Persons With Disabilities (PWD) Category candidates is on a horizontal basis,the selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate category to which they belong (viz. SC, ST,

OBC, and General). (a) Candidates belonging to and applying under the Reserved OBC Categoryare required to submit a Certificate regarding his / her "Community" in the prescribed format "FORMOF CERTIFICATE TO BE PRODUCED BY OTHER BACKWARD CLASSES APPLYING FORAPPOINTMENT TO POSTS UNDER THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA”(Format available on Bank'swebsite along with this Notification) and the Certificate should contain the "NON-CREAMY LAYERCLAUSE" based on the Income for the Financial Year ending 31.03.2011 or later. Candidates notproducing the above certificate will not be considered under the OBC Category. (b) The number ofvacancies indicated above and also the number of reserved vacancies is provisional and may varyaccording to the actual requirement of the Bank. (c) In case of non-availability of reserved candidates,the Bank reserves its right to Inter-change these categories as per Government Directives. (d) It isclarified that it may not be possible to employ candidates belonging to PWD Category in all Offices/ Branches of the Bank and they will have to work in the post Identified by the Bank as suitable forthem. NOTE (a)An Ex-Serviceman who has once joined a Government Job onthe Civil side after availing of the benefits given to him as an Ex-Servicemen for his re-employment,his Ex- Servicemen status for the purpose of re employment ceases. (b) In the case of a candidatewho is eligible for relaxation under more than one of the above categories, the age relaxation willbe available on cumulative basis with any one of the remaining categories for which age relaxationis permitted as mentioned above.This cumulative age relaxation is available to SC/ST/ OBCcandidates only. There is no reservation for Ex-servicemen candidates in the Officer Cadre. 5. ELIGIBILITY CRITER(As on01.07.2011) : (i) Nationality / Citizenship: A candidate must be either (i) a Citizen of India or(ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to Indiabefore 1st Jan. 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian originwho has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, theUnited Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopiaand Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belongingto categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility hasbeen issued by the Govt. of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessarymay be admitted to the examination &/or interview but on final selection the offer of appointmentmay be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Governmentof India. (ii) Applications from serving employees: Subject to their fulfilling the eligibility criteriexisting employees of Union Bank of India may apply online and then submit their applicationsthrough proper channel (HR Departments of the Nodal Regional / Field General Manager’s Office / Central Office under whose jurisdiction they work). Candidates should be Qualified in the Common Written Examination conducted by IBPSand should be holding a valid score card issued by IBPS . AND (c). A Certificate for having completeda Course in Computer Awareness & Office Automation for duration of minimum 60 hours from areputed Computer Training Institute, which will be waived where 'Computers' is a part of the curriculumat the Graduation / Post-Graduation Level. Selection Procedure: Through a Personal Interview oany other mode of selection to be decided by the competent authority. NOTE: Candidates muspecifically indicate the Class / Division obtained calculated to the nearest two decimals in therelevant column of the application. Where no percentage of Marks is awarded by the University, butonly CGPA/ OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage , besides indicatingthe CGPA/ OGPA in the application. SERVICE BOND : The seleccandidate will be required to execute a Service Bond undertaking to serve the Bank for a period of3 years or to pay the Bank a sum of Rs.200000.00 should he / she leave the Bank before thecompletion of the 3 year service period. 9. SELECTION METHODOLOGY: PERSONAL INTERVIEW.A Personal Interview of 50 marks shall be conducted to assess the candidates’ academic record,power of expression, clarity of thought, qualities of leadership, extra curricular activities, hobbies,general demeanor, behavior, communication skills, suitability for the post, etc. The minimum qualifyingmarks for the Personal Interview would be 50% marks (45% marks for Reserved Category Candidates).Candidates not clearing the Personal Interview will not be considered for final selection. (III): Theshort-listing of the candidates for Personal Interview will be made on the basis of the candidate’sperformance in the Written Test conducted by IBPS and the Total Wheighted Score obtained as perthe valid Score Card Issued by IBPS. Orthopaedically Challenged (OC): Locomotor Disability means disability of bones,

joints or muscles leading to substantial restriction of the movement of the limbs or any form ofcerebral palsy. Cerebral Palsy means a group of non progressive conditions of person characterisedby abnormal motor control posture resulting from brain insult or injuries occurring in the pre-natal,perinatal or infant period of development. All the cases of Orthopaedically Challendged personswould be covered under the category of "Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy". As the reservation

In all such cases where a scribe is used, thefollowing rules will apply: i) The candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe at his/her own cost.ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the minimum stipulatedeligibility criteria for the candidate. (11th Standard or below). iii) The scribe can be from anyacademic discipline. iv) Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitableundertaking in the prescribed format with passport size photograph of scribe, and confirm that thescribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe as mentioned above. Further, in case itlater transpires that he/she did not fulfill any of the laid-down criteria or suppressed material facts, thecandidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written test. v) Suchcandidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of theexamination. 8. Probation period: The newly appointed clerks will be on probation for a Minimumperiod of 6 months. Before the probation period comes to an end, the performance of the newlyrecruited employees will be evaluated and the probation period of those employees whoseperformance fails to meet Bank’s expectation, may be extended. 9. Application Fees and / orIntimation Charges (Non-refundable)

Fee once deposited will neither be refunded nor be adjusted against any future recruitment projects.The fee sent through Indian Postal Order, Bank Drafts, Cheques, Currency Notes etc. will not beaccepted. Such applications will be treated as without fee and will be summarily rejected. Candidatesalso has an option to make online fee payment as detailed under item 15. 10. Selection Procedure:All eligible candidates should apply on-line before the last date for registration of application. a.Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the written test and interview takentogether. Merely satisfying the eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for writtentest or interview. b. (ii) SIGNATURE IMAGE: • applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen. • The signature must be signed only by theapplicant and not by any other person. • The signature will be used to put on the Attendence Sheet.• If the Applicant’s signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match thesignature on the Attendence Sheet/Hall Ticket, the applicant will be disqualified. • Dimensions 140x 60 pixels (preferred) • Size of file should be between 10kb – 20kb • Ensure that the size of thescanned image is not more than 20KB SCANNING THE PHOTOGRAPH & SIGNATURE: • Setscanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch) • Set Color to True Color • File Size asspecified above • Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then usethe upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above). • The image file should beJPG or JPEG format. An example file name is : image01.jpg or image01.jpeg Image dimensionscan be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon. Candidatesusing MS Windows/MSOffice can easily obtain photo and signature in .jpeg format not exceeding50KB & 20KB respectively by using MS Paint or MSOffice Picture Manager. Scanned photograph
