2012 Nitrate-N Loss in Tile Drainage NZONE MAX in UAN vs. Untreated and Control

2012: The average flow weighted Nitrate-N loss through the tile lines for the NZONE MAX treatments

was 0.37 Lb. NO3-N /ac or a reduction of 55% compared to the 150 lb. untreated’s 0.83 Lb./ac

NO3-N loss.

2013, NZONE MAX held 18% more nitrate-N in the upper 12 inches of the soil for increased crop uptake. NZONE MAX reduced nitrate-N by 23% in the 12-24” level of the soil, where

nitrogen has the best potential to leach. Concentration and Loading of Nitrate-N leached into the tile line was reduced by 50%.

2014, NZONE MAX continues to reduce nitrate leaching when compared to untreated UAN. The 2014 study resulted in a 36% reduction in nitrate-N leaching into the tile line. The 3 year average for reduced nitrate-N

leaching in the tile line was 47% less with NZONE MAX vs. untreated UAN.
