1. The stock pressed steel arms and drumbrakes; not quite up to today's performancerequirements, despite having been updatedwith a new sway bar and shocks.
2. With a floor jack under the lower controlarm, the upper ball joint was undone torelease the upper arm. With the shockabsorber removed, the jack was let downslowly to release tension on the coil spring. Ifdone carefully, this negates the need for coilspring damps. Once all tension was released,the coil could be removed, followed by theupper and lower arms.
3. With allsuspension andsteering partsremoved (thisproject will be getting a newsteering box), theframe was cleanedand painted.
