3-VERTEXA group exhibition by Laguna, Rhode Montero and Skount.Three artists from “La Mancha” that cohere through a kaleidoscopic view to give birth to a single project of analysis and synthesis of demographic, geological and biological transformation as conceptual material of the artwork, to create their own language between surrealism and new figuration that give meaning to a complex in changes in the earth’s crust, overlapping, destruction and generation of biogeographic new paths which in turn alter the human psyche.

Laguna (Almagro, Spain 1979)

In 1985 he started to do school paintings, drew memories of afternoons TV, games and our streets and us. He replaced with sugar graph paper drawings, he painted lawn unconsciously and he started to dream consciously to draw. He freed lines until the youth reached.

In 1995 his painting begins with little interest in art, and eager to continue avoid him from his school homework.Colors of hardware, made and unmade streets. Notes, and ability to travel. Madrid and dormitory towns where he missed himself. Brands and Signatures, nonverbal language where he found, decoding and discover.

In the early 2000 he started to travel outside of Spain and his painting is released in concept and stroke. The different Cultures influences his pictorial compo-sition, and since 2002 his work was reflected in other media, in other spaces and places.

In 2014 he come back to Almagro, study and patio. Visited painting, on stage and showcase, in the transit and abandoned. His murals lived, died, were desig-ned, created and wounded in Europe, Buenos Aires, Valparaiso, Tokyo, Zurich, Nairobi, Chiang Mai ...

Rhode Montero (Ciudad Real, Spain - 1985).

He began his experience in graffiti in 2000, for several years participating in exhibitions, competitions, publications in journals and commissioned works and murals throughout the Spanish territory. Later, Rhode Montero decides to study “Commercial Graphic Design” in Córdoba which extends his work and begins to work with the interdisciplinarity be-tween graffiti and design. After graduating as a graphic designer, he combines his role as a freelancer for various advertising agencies and design studios of Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).

Currently, He is in Taiwan where he is developing his artistic work and completing their studies through a scholarship grant PROMOE by the Polytechnic Uni-versity of Valencia.

His work:

The exhibition of his latest works is the fusion of spot treatment, artistic techniques and new graphic-plastic materials creating a unique language on mobile media. His work brings a wealth of color full of icons, symbols, graphics and techniques that bind the basis of advertising and graphic concepts.

Skount (Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, 1985), currently based in Amsterdam (The Netherlands). Inspired by the classical Spanish theatre of the town where he spent the most of his childhood (Almagro), Skount’s oneiric masked characters beckon the viewer from the urban environment into their mysterious and playful dreamscapes. The great playwrights of Skount’s youth formed a lasting impression, where he regards life as a wonderful play, in which everyone has a role.

Driven by the fundamental desire to free his own mind, Skount’s creativity knows no bounds. With a background in street art, his artistic expression spans paint, paper, music and performance, to video art, sculpture, and installation. Yet Skount always comes back to masks. Humans the world over, have used masks since ancient times for sacred rituals, as ornamentation, and in performances and theatre. The mask disguises the identity of its wearer, and symbolizes the need to hide or repress a person’s desires, fears and concerns. Skount observes that everybody carries a mask, with it we conceal our identity and adopt a more socially acceptable image to get by day to day. But we can also choose the moments and people with whom we can reveal our true nature, and take off our masks.

Skount’s irrepressible curiosity for other cultures has inspired him to travel and study different forms of creativity and traditions around the world. Skount has worked and exhibited throughout Spain, Europe, Israel, China, Japan, Australia, Mexico and the United States.
