Pic by Muhaizan Yahya LUMUT: The inaugural Pangkor International Development Dialogue (PIDD) recently was a major success as socio-economic leaders and educators gathered to deliberate on the subjects of good governance and inclusive wealth. Held at the Swiss Garden Golf Resort and Spa here, the dialogue was opened by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir. In his opening address, Zambry said the dialogue had a vital role to play in generating ideas not only for the state but also for Malaysia and the world at large. “With the singular purpose of bringing together a number of experts in various Yelds, it serves as an intellectual platform to exchange information and share experiences,” he said. Zambry later told reporters that PIDD was part of the effort by Perak to promote the state. “It is to discuss new ideas in terms of development for Perak and Malaysia,” he said. Zambry added that experienced presenters who are captains of their Yeld had been invited to give their presentation. Singling out the event’s keynote speaker Morinosuke Kawaguchi as an example, Zambry said the former was an adviser to the Japanese government. “He is a strategist and innovation expert,” he said. Zambry noted that Kawaguchi also saw the potential of Malaysia. “We hope to take the views of all speakers to help us plan and develop Perak and Malaysia,” he added. LUMUT: The inaugural Pangkor International Development Dialogue (PIDD) recently was a majorsuccess as socio-economic leaders and educators gathered to deliberate on the subjects of goodgovernance and inclusive wealth.
