    -Ensure minimum wastage

    as per the prescribed norms.

    power & fuel, other indirect

    consumables.

    -Ensure logistic cost is as per plan

    Finance-Accurate cost estimates

    -Proper planning of working capital

    -Ensure fund availability when needed.

    -Prompt payment to ensure smooth in-flow of raw

    materials & consumables from suppliers

    -Arrange long term funds for capital projects, up-

    gradation /replacement of machines

    -Regular feed back on product wise profitability .

    -Accurate projection of engineering/ design

    change notices for existing products.

    -Regular MIS on operation cost/profitability vs

    planned budget.

    -Point out lacuna in existing production schedule.

    Material control & production

    Production

    -Provide accurate production plans tohelp Material control department plantheir procurement.

    -Provide regular feedback in terms ofquality of material received. Givesuggestions to help improve the qualityof materials procured.

    -Provide proper specification of thematerial requirement.

    -Raise an alarm if the inventory normsare not being adhered to. Promptlyinform MCD in case of sudden changein production plan.

    -Provide constructive suggestions tohelp develop suppliers.

    Material Control

    -Ensure each raw material /components supplies are received asper planned schedules

    -Raw material / components isprocured at the bare minimum costwithout compromising on quality.

    -There is no deviation from the

    specifications provided by the designdepartment.

    -Ensure inventory norms are adheredto.

    -Ensure development of suppliers/vendors so that they can adapt to thefast changing market scenario.

    -Selection of suppliers with adoptabilityto change to market fluctuations.

    Production

    -Follow various procedures designed

    by the System IT team are adhered to

    -Ensure use of MIS provided by

    various systems. Prod. should not tryto generate a parallel set of informatn.

    -Provide regular feedback to system ITdepartment when glitches in thesoftware are noticed.

    -Reschedule production in case of nonavailability of materials.

    -Ensure production is in line with theplan derived by the system based on

    the marketing indications.-Ensure max. computerisation of

    plans, schedules etc. Avoid manualadjustments.

    System

    -Provide real term MIS to Production

    -Provide required software to enable productionto plan their schedules with minimum efforts &

    Maximum accuracy.-On line inventory system so that the materialsavailability is known at any point of time.

    -MIS of material received vs planned schedules

    -Provide on line connectivity with various depts.e.g. MCD, Fin, HR, Mkting suppliers.

    -Set up various operating procedures to ensuresmooth flow of material along flow lines.

    -Ensure BOM updates in coord. With design

    -Provide inventory analysis.

    -Provide feasibility of prod. based on marketing

    sales plan.

    -Derive purchase schedule from prod.plans.

    HR & Production

    Production

    -Assist IR in maintaining cordial relations

    between management & workmen.

    -Ensure that the manpower requirements

    are properly defined.-Ensure release of those required forvarious training programmes by HR/IR.

    -Provide proper discussion forums to solve

    various issues.-Assist HR/IR in arriving at an amicablesolution, wherein production targets areenhanced maintaining industrial relations.

    -Provide regular feedback to HR thro their

    networking in the industry as regardsmarket pay scales etc.

    -Try to motivate Workman, Engineers,Executives by ensuring that dignity of

    labour is maintained.

    HR

    -Ensure prompr replacements in case of

    resignations, terminations.

    -Ensure availability of skilled workmen &

    professionals.-Provide regular training programmes tohelp production personell upgrade theirrequired skills to match with globalchanges.

    -Create atmosphere conducive formanagement ,union cordial relationship.

    -Ensure for the timely wage settlement &acceptable as win win situation.

    -Ensure Management staff compensationin line with market scales & related skills.

    -Ensure retention of skilled talentedpersonnel within the organization.

    justice to the productive employees & alsomotivates employees.

    -Provide a planned career plan to helpemployees visualise the growth within theorganization.

    -Ensure proper welfare facilities are providedbased on the industry requirement.
