SHOW HEADQUARTERS HOTEL COMFORT INN OTTAWA WEST, 222 Hearst Way, Kanata, Ontario. (613) 592-2200. The toll-free reservations line for Comfort Inns is 1-800-228-5150. (20 mins. to show). There is a restaurant in the motel. When mak-ing your reservation, refer to the “Ottawa & Area German Shepherd Dog Club” for the nightly rate of $134.99 + taxes. This rate includes a full-hot breakfast, free wi-fi access. Pet Fee - $10 per pet per night (maximum 2 pets per room). Book your rooms early. Block of rooms for the Club will be held until June 14th.

* * EXTREMELY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY * * It is very important that all exhibitors staying at the hotel take particular care in cleaning up after their dogs and MUST NOT LEAVE THEIR DOGS UNATTENDED IN THE ROOMS AT ANY TIME. This is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate to the staff and to the general public the best characteristics of the German Shepherd Dog. IF WE ARE CAREFUL AND CONSIDERATE ABOUT LOOKING AFTER OUR DOGS, WE WILL BE WELCOMED BACK. If one or more people are inconsiderate about their animals then there is a good chance that we will not be able to use the hotel again. As there are few hotels in the western end of Ottawa and even fewer that will take dogs, this will seriously jeopardize our ability to hold these shows.

DOGS MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO DISTURB OTHER GUESTS. STOOP & SCOOP IS MANDATORY.

*** Please be a responsible dog owner so that we will be able to use

this Hotel again. Thank you in advance for your co-operation ***

MOVING A DOG TO SPECIALS

Chapter 13, Sect. 8 states: A dog which is individually registered in the records of the CKC and has completed the requirements for a Championship in accordance with CKC Rules but at the time of the closing of entries for a show has not received confirmation of

the title, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to "Specials Only", providing the transfer is submitted to the Show Secretary IN WRITING by the owner or handler at least ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE OPENING OF THE SHOW.

NOTE: When a CKC Reg. No. for a listed dog is received after the closing date and prior to the date of the show, this number may be added to the entry and noted in the marked catalog. Listing fees will NOT be refunded. This then allows a dog who

completes the requirements for Championship status to be moved up to Specials.

WITHDRAWAL OF ENTRIES

CH. 13, SECT. 6.1, Dog Show Rules states: An exhibitor has the right to withdraw an

entry at any time up to the closing date and time as published in the premium list. This may be done by telephone, but either written or electronic notification must be received by the show secretary no later than the official closing date and time as stated in the

premium list. If written or electronic notification is not received, the dog will remain entered in the show.

ATTENTION FOREIGN EXHIBITORS

Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a

cheque in U.S. funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques "Payable in Canadian Funds" or "At Par". They will not be cleared by the banks. To simplify the

process, we urge that you purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds. Your understanding and co-operation is appreciated. Thank you.

FOREIGN EXHIBITORS - TO OBTAIN AN EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER (ERN)

Send a photocopy of the dog's registration certificate reflecting current ownership with a written request for an ERN number. Include payment in full amount ($59.40 + tax). Accounts may be paid with a personal or business cheque, money order, Visa or Master-

card. Non-Members please note that if paying by cheque, the cheque must be certified. Non-residents of Canada please note that discounted cheques or money orders will not be accepted due to fluctuating currency rates. Provide your full return

address and telephone number. Faxed requests will be accepted. Please ensure that your Visa or Mastercard number is legible and you have included your expiry date and signature. AN ERN MUST BE OBTAINED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF OBTAINING POINTS,

AWARDS OR SCORES TO AVOID CANCELLATION. If factors beyond your control prohibit this or presents a problem, please send a written request for a 30 day extension.

Please forward your request to: The Canadian Kennel Club, Shows & Trials Division, 200 Ronson Drive, Suite 400, Etobicoke, ON M9W 5Z9. Fax to: (416) 675-6506. Telephone: (416) 675-5511.
