(3) FUTURE FORMS

FUTURE SIMPLE (budoucí čas prostý) se de facto skládá ze tří forem, které vyjadřují

budoucnost: WILL/SHALL, GOING TO a PRESENT SIMPLE/CONTINUOUS.

Positive and negative form

� will vyjadřuje budoucnost nebo předpoklad budoucnosti

� užíváme, když víme, že to určitě udělám, teď jsem se rozhodl, budu … (rozhodujeme

se v době, kdy s někým mluvíme, právě teď jsem se rozhodl)

We will be away for two weeks. Our love will last forever. Také můžeme použít think (myslím, že): I feel a bit hungry. I think I’ll have something to eat. !!!! Are you working tomorrow? NEPOUŽIJEME Will you work tomorrow? !!!! I will go and shut the door. NEPOUŽIJEME I go and shut the door.

SHALL

� shall používáme ve smyslu mám něco udělat? nebo měli bychom něco dělat?

� shall = will

� používáme jen s 1. osobou j.č. i mn.č. ( I, we )

� NEPOUŽÍVÁME s jinými osobami (you, he, she, they)

It is very warm in this room. Shall I open the window? Shall I phone you this evening? Shall we buy a new car?

GOING TO + verb

� vyjadřuje blízkou budoucnost

� užíváme, když chceme vyjádřit, že se chystáme něco udělat

� nemáme to ale pevně naplánované a zorganizované (na rozdíl od užití PRESENT

CONTINUOUS)

It isn’t going to rain today. What are you going to do on Saturday evening?

PRESENT SIMPLE

� používáme v souvislosti s jízdními řády, programy v TV apod.

� používáme v souvislosti s lidmi, kteří mají něco naplánované ve smyslu rozvrhu hodin

The concert starts at 7.30. What time does your train leave? The train leaves Prague at 11.30 a.m. and arrives in Brno at 1.45 p.m. What time does the film begin? It is Wednesday tomorrow. What time do you finish work tomorrow? What time does your school start tomorrow morning?

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

� používáme v souvislosti osobního plánování (funkce diáře), již jsme to naplánovali a

známe i termín, kdy se plánovaná věc stane (setkat se s někým, někde být v určitou

dobu apod.)

What time is Cathy arriving tomorrow? At 10.30 a.m. I am meeting her at the station. I am not doing anything this evening.
