A prism is a 3-D figure with two parallel polygonal faces that are the same size and shape.

Base of Prisms:

A base of a prism is one pair of parallel polygonal faces that are the same size and shape. Your

Height of a Prism:

The height of a prism is the length of a perpendicular segment that joins the bases.

Lateral Face of a Prism:

A lateral face of a prism is a face that joins the bases of the prism.

PYRAMIDS

A pyramid is a 3-D figure with a base that is a polygon and triangular faces that meet at a vertex.

Base of a Pyramid:

A polygonal face that does not connect to the vertex. You name a pyramid for the shape of its base.

Height of a Pyramid:

The length of the segment perpendicular to the base that joins the vertex and the base.

Lateral Face of a Pyramid:

A triangular face that joins the base and the vertex.
