PNMT Installation

PNMT Installation: SequenceThis section give description of the steps of installation, setup PNMT for Windows XP.

Installation and Setup Sequence is shown in right.

PNMT Installation: Phone and ModemProcedure:7. Select the Standard Modem Type from the list of Manufacturer and Standard 19200bps Modem from the Modem. Click [Next] to continue. As shown below:

PNMT Installation: Installation of USBProcedure:1. Connect the PNMT computer to LCT Port of the NE with a standard USB cable. Select No. not this time and click [Next]. As shown below:

PNMT Installation: Installation of USBProcedure:3. Insert the USB driver CD-ROM in the computers disk drive and select Search for the best driver in these locations and check Search removable media [floppy, CD-ROM] then ,click [Next]. As shown below:

PNMT Installation:Procedure:1.Click Start--->Setting--->Control Panel and the Network Connections icon to start configuring the Dialup Setting. As shown below:

PNMT Installation:Procedure:7. In the New Connection Wizard window, enter Pnmt in the Company Name field and click [Next] to continue. As shown below:

PNMT Installation:Procedure:9. Verify that Pnmt is displayed as the connection, and click [Finish]. As shown below:

PNMT Installation:Procedure:11. Verify that Modem-Standard 19200bps Modem [COM1] is displayed on the General tab in the Dial-up connection Properties window. Click [Configure] , As shown below:

PNMT Installation:Procedure:13. Retain the default setting on the Options tab and Click the Security tab, As shown below:

PNMT Installation:Procedure:15. On the Networking tab, verify that PPPis displayed in the Type of dial-up server I am calling field and uncheck File and Printerand Client for Microsoft., As shown below:

Procedure:16. Click Settings uncheck all the boxes in the window appears. As shown above. Click [OK] to go back to the previous window. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click [Properties]January 13, 2007 NEC Corporation 2007 18

PNMT Installation:Procedure:17. Verify that both Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are selected., As shown below:

PNMT Installation: SNMP Service SettingProcedure:1. Select Start--->Setting--->Control Panel, Then ,in the Add or Remove Programs window, Click Add/Remove Windows Components, As shown below:It is necessary to remove SNMP Service or to stop it if it has already been installed. Following Procedure for to remove SNMP Service.

Procedure:2. The Windows Components Wizard window appears. Remove the check from Management and Monitoring Tools, and Click Details As shown above:January 13, 2007 NEC Corporation 2007 21

PNMT Installation: SNMP Service SettingProcedure:3. The Management and Monitoring Tools window appears. Confirm that Simple Network Management Protocol is not checked and Click [OK] . Return to above window and click [Next] , As shown below:

PNMT Installation: SNMP Service SettingProcedure:1.Select Start--->Setting---->Control Panel, then Click Administrative Tools . As shown below:It is necessary to remove SNMP Service or to stop it if it has already been installed. Following Procedure for to stop SNMP Service.

PNMT Installation: SNMP Service SettingProcedure:3. Right-click SNMP Service and then Click Properties in SNMP Service pop-up menu. As shown below:

Procedure:4. Select Manual in the Startup type field and click Stop in the Service status field on the General tab. Click [OK] or [Apply] .As shown above:January 13, 2007 NEC Corporation 2007 24

PNMT Installation: SNMP Service SettingProcedure:5. Confirm that the Status of both SNMP Service and SNMP Trap Service is stopped and that the startup condition for each on is Manual. As shown below:

PNMT Installation:Procedure:1. Insert the PNMT Installation CD-ROM. Open the CD-ROM folder and double click setupwin32.exe. As shown below:

PNMT SetupIF PNMT software has already been installed , please uninstall it before you install a new version

PNMT Installation:Procedure:3. The welcome message window appears. Click [Next]. As shown below:

PNMT Setup

The Default Path is C:\PNMTj. It is not possible to include blank spaces as in Program Files.

PNMT Installation:Procedure:5. Specify the License. Key file if one is available. Click [Next]. As shown below:

PNMT Setup

The Default Path is when a stored Directory is not specified. It is not possible to include blank spaces as in Program Files.

Procedure:If on License Key is available, Operation in Trial mode is possible for 30 days.

6. Specify the directory for storing PNMT log files. Click [Next] .As shown above.28

PNMT Installation: Launching PNMTProcedure:1. Click Start ---> Programs ---->PNMTj ---->PNMT to Start the application. As shown below:

Procedure:2. If above window appears, select [Unblock] (when using the Windows XP SP2).January 13, 2007 NEC Corporation 2007 31

PNMT Installation: Launching PNMTProcedure:3. Enter User name and Password, and select [Login]. As shown below: Note: If another application is using the SNMP Port, Application initialization will not be possible. The Application will shut down, and the following message will appear.

User name: admin Password: (There is no initial Password. Just press Enter. A Password can then can be set.)
