Pan (Warm) Melt Glue
• An adhesive that is melted in an electric pan to secure fresh or dried flowers and accessories.
• Also called warm melt glue• Melts at a lower temperature than hot
glue.• Does not hold up well to refrigeration.
Adhesives & Tapes
• Floral glue• Hot glue• Warm glue• Floral clay
• Florists tape– Stem wrap tape
• Waterproof tape– Also called anchor
tape
Hot Glue
• Heats up to 250°F– Really can burn you!!!
• Will damage fresh flowers
• Sets up quickly
• Works very well on silk flowers
• Leaves strings
Floral Glue
• Similar to rubber cement. • Apply some of the glue to each surface you want
to bond, allow it to air dry for a few moments, and then press the two gluey surfaces together.
• The drying is an endothermic reaction and too much of the adhesive can cause the temperature to drop enough to damage flowers and foliage.
• Used to construct corsages and body flowers. • It is also great for gluing blossoms into garlands
or wreaths.
Stem Lock
• The adhesive is in an aerosol can and has a tiny straw that you put into the spray cap.
• Apply the adhesive by inserting the straw into the design at the foam surface (not into the foam) and spray in several locations.
• Lock in the stems• Seals water in the foam• Keeps flowers from falling out
Florist’s Clay
• Sticky clay holds foam in container
• Waterproof
• Sticks to foam
Stem wrap tape
